NASHUA – Nicole De Jesus scored all of her game-high 19 points in the second half to help the Nashua High School South girls basketball team get a 47-44 win Friday night over Goffstown.

Amber Wong added eight points while Brooke Berger had all of her seven points in the second half and Nitzann Alkalay had all of her seven points in the first half for the Panthers (1-0).

The Grizzlies (0-1) got 14 points each from Meredith Winterburn and Reece Still while Jocelyn O’Meara came off the bench to add six points.

South trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half and took the lead for the first time on a basket by De Jesus with 2:53 left in the third quarter. The junior had 12 points in the frame as the Panthers took a 32-28 lead into the fourth.

Goffstown battled back, outscoring South 11-5 to take a 39-37 lead with 3:38 to play, but the Panthers responded with a 10-5 run to close out the game and take the win.

Keene 62, Merrimack 46

Harper Zalanski had 25 points and eight rebounds to help lead the Blackbirds to a win over the Tomahawks.

Zalanski was also 9 of 13 at the free throw line while McKenna Nelson added 18 points, four rebounds and four steals and Isabella Parham-Brown had 10 points and three steals. Lucy Timmer chipped in with eight points for Keene (1-0), which pulled away in the second half.

Abby Herod had a double double for Merrimack (0-1) and Natalia Maglio also played well.

Pinkerton 72, Nashua North 40

Sydney Gerossie hit five 3-pointers and finished with 19 points to lead the Astros past the Titans.

Emily Leonard was also in double figures with 15 points, including three 3s, while Brooke Benz and Kaylee Dupuis (one 3) added nine points apiece.

Timberlane 55, Spaulding 23

Ava Stewart scored 20 of her career-high 24 points in the first half to lead the Owls to a road win over the Red Raiders.

Rylee Donahue added 12 points for Timberlane (1-0), which led 29-12 at halftime. Freshman Sam Mooney scored eight points in her first varsity game.

Spaulding got six points apiece from Addie Stockbridge and Damiya Perkins.

Bishop Guertin 38, Concord Christian 36

The Cardinals went on the road and picked up a win over the Kingsmen, who moved up from D2 for this two-year cycle.

Maddi Long and Maggie Gallagher each had nine points for Bishop Guertin and Kayden Rioux hit a key 3-pointer in the fourth quarter to keep the Cardinals in front.

Salem 67, Exeter 56

Lily George scored 25 points, including three 3-pointers, to help the Blue Devils to a win over the Blue Hawks.

Ellaa Mosto added 19 points and Lindsey Goetz was also in double figures with 13 for Salem. Freshman Morgann Raskow chipped in seven points in her first varsity game.

Karli Scherpf led Exeter with 17 points, including four 3-pointers, and Lexy Rogers had 10 points and nine rebounds. Emma Gillis added six points and six  steals and Anna McGuinness had six points and five steals.

Londonderry 81, Winnacunnet 26

Kaila Roy had 12 points for the Warriors, but it wasn’t enough in their season-opener against the Lancers.

Julie Allen added five points, her first on varsity, for Winnacunnet, while Nora Simmons and Imani Walker also scored their first varsity points.

Londonderry got 28 points, including five 3-pointers, from Gemma Murray, while Sammie Sullivan (three 3s) and Brooke Eacrette added 17 points apiece.

Bedford 70, Trinity 19

The Bulldogs outscored the Pioneers 29-0 in the first quarter and never looked back in their season opener.

Kate Allard scored a game-high 17 points for Bedford, including two 3s, and recorded her 1,000th career point in the first quarter. Bella Landies added 15 points and Ava Collins was also in double figures with 10 points.

Ella Allard added two 3s and had nine points and Eva Zink scored eight points.

Addison Moynihan had eight points to lead Trinity while Sadie Mungere added five points.

Alvirne 73, Manchester Memorial 41

The Broncos rolled past the Crusaders in the season opener for both teams.

Ella Hartson led Alvirne with 19 points and Lexi Floyd hit four 3-pointers to finish with 17 points.

Laconia 52, Souhegan 34

The Sabers got eight points and six rebounds from Zofia Rosenfield but it wasn’t enough in a loss to the Sachems.

Phoebe Faucher added six points and five rebounds and Kayden Merriam had five points for Souhegan.

Macy Swormstedt led all scorers with 25 points for Laconia, which outscored Souhegan 20-8 in the second quarter to take control of the game.

Franklin 49, Hinsdale 33

The Golden Tornadoes picked up a road win over the Pacers in the first game of a varsity doubleheaders. Hinsdale got 21 points from Gemma Doty in the loss.

Boys Basketball

Portsmouth 72, Manchester Central 50

Freshman Derek Swartz netted a game-high 19 points to lead the Clippers past the Little Green in the Division I opener inside Stone Gymnasium.

Portsmouth junior point guard Isaiah Reis added 16 points for the Clippers, who led 23-6 through one quarter and 44-16 at halftime.

Merrimack Valley 66, Kennett 46

The Pride jumped out to a double-digit lead early and never looked back, opening the season with a win over the Eagles.

Ethan Dukette led the way for Merrimack Valley with 25 points and Brady Smith finished in double figures with 13 markers.

Campbell 79, Fall Mountain 47

The Cougars outscored the Wildcats 37-17 in the second half on the way to a big season-opening win.

Cayden DeLeon led the way for Campbell with 26 points and eight steals. Jack Breton added 16 points and eight rebounds and Logan Rice scored 14 points and grabbed nine boards.

Hinsdale 59, Franklin 44

The Pacers grabbed a win at home, getting 21 points from Chris Colon to knocked off the Golden Tornadoes.

Spaulding 62, Timberlane 32

The Red Raiders opened the year with a win on the road over the Owls.

Nate Sanchez-Martinez and Kyran Jeanpierre each had 15 points to lead Spaulding while Marcel Rose added 14 points in the win.

Alvirne 59, Manchester Memorial 45

The Broncos outscored the Crusaders 23-6 in the second quarter on their way to a big season-opening win.

Garrett Hall led Alvirne with 20 points while Sammy DeWitt added 15 points.

ConVal 60, Plymouth 38

The Cougars picked up a home win over the Bobcats to open the season. Max Cail led the way with 23 points and Ryan Close added 21 points to lead ConVal.
