Around the Granite State: Nashua South girls lacrosse ends with win over Merrimack
Here are results from Thursday’s high school lacrosse action.
MERRIMACK – Maren Lowell and Ella Benzekri each had four goals and an assist to lead the Nashua High School South girls lacrosse team to a 15-6 win Thursday over Merrimack.
Karina O’Donnell added three goals for the Panthers (11-7, No. 10 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll) and Morgan Uzdanovich had a goal and an assist.
Nevaeh Eppolitto, Saige Devins and Maddie Matylewski added a goal apiece and Keira Walsh made three saves. Benzekri also recorded her 300th career draw control while Audrey Mullaney, Abbey Herlihy, Abbey Benotti, Brynn Tefft and Karina Santana played well defensively.
South is expected to be the No. 6 seed in the Division I playoffs, while the loss eliminated the Tomahawks (5-11).
No. 7 Windham 18, Keene-Monadnock 3
The Jaguars got goals from all nine of their seniors in their final regular-season home game.
Chloe Hall led the way with four goals and an assist and Sophia Ponzini added two goals and three assists. Mia Gallinelli and Emma Kendzulak also had two goals and an assist apiece.
Darby Madden and Anna Hartmann had a goal and an assist each while Casey Dolliver, Marissa Andrews, Paige Carboni, Skylar Willis, Victoria Maloney and Ella Gallinelli each had a goal.
Windham (15-2) is expected to be the No. 2 seed in the D2 playoffs, while Keene-Monadnock (5-11) needs a win Saturday against Brattleboro (Vt.) Union to get in to the postseason.
Boys Lacrosse
Bow 8, Plymouth 7 (OT)
Billy Smethurst had two goals, including the game-winner, to get the Falcons past the Bobcats in their regular-season finale.
Gavin McCabe added three goals and two assists, including a helper on Smethurst’s overtime score. McCabe also eclipsed the 100-goal mark for his career in the win.
Bow (10-4) is projected to the No. 5 in the D3 playoffs while Plymouth (9-6) looks like it will be the No. 8 seed.
Lebanon 14, Milford 2
The Spartans wrapped up the regular season on the road in a loss to the Raiders.
Braydon Atwood had both goals for Milford and Chris Quezada had an assist. Brennan Cassidy made 13 saves while Braedon Orlen and Dartagnan Boudreau played well defensively.
