Around the Granite State: Nashua South girls lacrosse rolls to win over Manchester Central-West (video)
Here are results from Thursday’s high school sports action.
MANCHESTER – The Nashua High School South girls lacrosse team picked up its second win in as many days, knocking off Manchester Central-West 15-4 on Thursday.
Maren Lowell had five goals and an assist and Carly Benzekri had four goals and an assist to lead the Panthers (2-0, No. 8 in the MerchSquared.com/NHHSSports Coaches Poll). Addie Borden recorded three goals, while Karina O’Donnell had two goals and eight draw controls and Saige Devins had a goal and two assists.
Lilee Petricca (four saves) and Emma Herlihy (three) split time in goal while Nevaeh Eppolito had three groundballs and three caused turnovers and Karina Santana had four groundballs.
Grace Manning led Central-West (1-1) with two goals and an assist while Tianna Mann and Sydney Murphy had a goal apiece. Averie Proulx added an assist and Caitlin Powles had 19 saves.
Pelham 16, Trinity 10
Ella DeSimone scored eight goals to lead the Pythons past the Pioneers.
Jessica Phillips and Katherine Carroll each added three goals for Pelham while MaKenzie Comtois scored twice.
Mia Wilkins and Julianne Rocha had an assist apiece and Addison Breault finished with 10 saves.
John Stark 16, Pembroke 2
The Generals got goals from seven players in a win over the Spartans.
Ryan Mucci had four goals and two assists and Zoe Lawson scored five goals to lead John Stark. Kaycie Rhodes had two goals and three assists and Addie DeCew chipped in with two goals and an assist.
Evette Dagenais recorded three assists while Hannah Perkins, Jillian Fredette and Claudia Dustin had a goal apiece. Rowin Ledy made six saves.
Timberlane 15, Kennett 6
Aubrey Fitzgerald and Lulu Trasatti each had four goals to help lead the Owls past the Eagles.
Fitzgerald also had an assist while Ella Watts added two goals and an assist and Julia Johnson had a goal, two assists and two draw controls. Ella Lampron also scored twice and had two groundballs and two draw controls.
Mia Morrier had a goal, two groundballs and four draw controls while Ava Paul also had a goal and Alexa Ring had an assist and two groundballs. Tatenda Chanakira had two groundballs and Kayla Apitz recorded eight saves.
Boys Lacrosse
No. 4 Pinkerton 6, No. 10 Merrimack 3
The Astros overcame a 2-0 deficit at halftime thanks to solid defense from goalie Owen Perkins and Brenden Carney.
Kyle Ushkevich had two goals for Pinkerton (2-0) while Ben Quintiliani, Matt Gormady, Jeff Gormady and Tyler Barry each had a goal.
Merrimack (2-1) got a goal and an assist from Gabe Gorman while Hudson Rousseau and Peyton Connelly scored a goal apiece. Henry Tobin recorded an assist and Mason Tremblay finished with 16 saves.
Bow 11, Bishop Brady 4
The Falcons broke the game open in the third quarter to get a win over the Giants.
Niko Mallios had a goal and four assists and Wyatt Premo scored four times to lead Bow. Sam Bennett added a goal and three assists and Parker Kazanowski chipped in with two goals and two assists.
