Around the Granite State: Oyster River field hockey beats Merrimack Valley
Here are results from Thursday’s high school field hockey action.
Rowynn Pickering had three goals to lead the Oyster River High School field hockey team to a 4-1 win Thursday over Merrimack Valley.
Rose Paxton also had a goal for the Bobcats (3-0) while Grey Bowden helped the defense hold the Pride to one goal.
Nora Rogers, Eliza Farwell and Hannah Main also played well for Oyster River.

Berlin 2, Mascoma Valley 1
Makenna Houston scored on a breakaway with five minutes left to tie the game for the Royals, but the Mountaineers answered right back to get the win.
Mascoma Valley (0-1) got solid first varsity games from Abbee Harkins, Sophia Smith and Morgan Fitts.
Kearsarge 5, Conant 0
Bella Valle scored two goals to lead the Cougars to a road win over the Orioles.
Stella Syvertsen added a goal and an assist and Abby Bradybury recorded two assists for Kearsarge (2-0). Saortia Carmody and Payton MacMichael also had a goal apiece in the win and Raegan Billado was strong on defense.
No. 3 Exeter 2, Goffstown 1
Emma Cummings scored with under eight minutes remaining to give the Blue Hawks a win over the Grizzlies.
Finley Heath had tied the game for Goffstown (1-2), scoring on a penalty stroke in the third quarter. Hope Moulton finished with 18 saves.
Dani Caron also had a goal for Exeter (2-1, No. 3 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll).
