Around the Granite State: Oyster River field hockey comes back to beat Souhegan (video)
Here are results from Friday’s high school sports action.
AMHERST – Eliza Farwell scored three goals and the Oyster River High School field hockey team came back from an early deficit to defeat Souhegan 4-2 on Friday.
Farwell scored on a penalty corner with 6:47 left in the second quarter to tie the game at 1 and then scored twice in the third to give the Bobcats (9-0, No. 7 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll) a cushion.
Roywnn Pickering added a goal while Nora Rogers, Margaret Aldous and Sadie McLeod each had an assist.
The Sabers (5-4) got two goals from Eme Godin while Caitlin Ridings and Ella Russell each had an assist.
John Stark 4, Kennett 1
Caylin Worthen had two goals and an assist to lead the Generals past the Eagles.
Jillian Fredette added a goal and two assists while Paityn Niquette also scored and Addison DeCew had an assist. Emily Fredette and Kate Dennis also played well for John Stark (8-2).
No. 3 Exeter 1, No. 8 Winnacunnet 0 (OT)
Elsa Bishop scored the game’s only goal with 4:23 remaining in overtime to give the Blue Hawks their ninth win in a row.
Pembroke 1, ConVal 0
Ashlyn Barker scored the game’s only goal to lift the Spartans past the Cougars.
Mady Cali recorded an assist on the goal for Pembroke (5-4-1).
Girls Volleyball
Portsmouth Christian 3, Farmington 1
The Eagles held off the Tigers to win in four, with game scores of 26-24, 25-20, 24-26 and 25-13.
Quinn Arico led the way with 15 kills, six aces, 12 assists and eight digs while Heidi Geyer had 10 kills, two aces and 10 digs. Lexi Jordan added 11 assists, two aces and 20 digs and Emma Eisner also had 20 digs.
Maycie Andress recorded four kills and two aces and Lily Druge finished with three aces. Caroline Braman also recorded five blocks.
