Around the Granite State: Oyster River girls basketball beats ConVal
Here are results from Tuesday night’s high school basketball action.
Olivia Andersen and Vivian O’Quinn each had 14 points Tuesday night to lead the Oyster River High School girls basketball team to a 72-36 win on the road over ConVal.
Wren Horne added 10 points for the Bobcats, who won their seventh straight to improve to 13-2 in Division II.
Jazzy Alvarez and Ashling Ferris were also in double figures with 10 points apiece.
Souhegan 50, Sanborn 29
The Sabers started fast, taking an 18-7 lead in the first quarter, and rolled to their third win in a row.
Phoebe Faucher led Souhegan (7-9) with 11 points and Caroline Drum recorded 10 points. Nevaya Mortimer, Kayden Merriam and Zofia Rosenfield each had six points for the Sabers.
Ashton DiRenzo had 10 points to lead the Indians (1-15).
Exeter 71, Goffstown 52
Lexy Rogers scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Blue Hawks to a road win over the Grizzlies.
Karli Scherpf added 16 points and five assists for Exeter (10-6) while Anna McGuinness had a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Jessica Melick also had 11 points and Emma Gillis played defensively, recording five steals.
Timberlane 42, Manchester Central-West 31
Rylee Donahue scored 25 points to help lead the Owls to their fifth win in a row.
Donahue had six 3-pointers while Sam Mooney added seven points and Ella Lampron had six points for Timberlane (10-6).
Adrianna Perron hit three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points to lead Central-West (6-9) while Chloe Murphy was also in double figures with 10 points.
Manchester Memorial 39, Spaulding 36
The Red Raiders came back from a 21-point deficit to make it close but couldn’t complete the rally against the Crusaders.
Mackenzie LeBlanc had 11 points to lead Spaudling while Meagan Uraskevich had eight points and Ava Damon finished with seven markers.
Concord Christian 49, Pinkerton 41
The Astros were outscored 15-6 in the second quarter and that proved to be the difference against the Kingsmen.
Sydney Gerossie finished with 15 points to lead Pinkerton while Mia Marshall and Kaylee Dupuis recorded eight points apiece.
Bishop Guertin 65, Keene 46
The Blackbirds fell at home to the Cardinals, despite getting a big game from Harper Zalaski.
Zalaski finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks and McKenna Nelson added 11 points, going 7 of 8 at the free throw line, and grabbed seven boards.
Windham 67, Trinity 36
The Jaguars improved to 14-2 on the season with a big home win over the Pioneers.
Meghan Husson led the way for Windham with 14 points and Lilah Boucher finished with 11 points.
Boys Basketball
D3 Prelims: No. 4 Campbell 52, No. 13 Hopkinton 48
The Cougars survived an opening-round matchup with the Hawks behind a big night from Logan Rice.
Rice finished with 18 points, including four 3-pointers, and grabbed 10 rebounds while Jack Breton battled early foul trouble to finish with 11 points and eight boards.
Cayden DeLeon had nine points, eight assists and four steals for Campbell and Matthew Haley had eight points, including a 3 and two free throws in the fourth quarter.
Hanover 57, Merrimack Valley 50
The Pride had a one-point lead entering the fourth quarter, but were outscored by the Bears, 13-5.
Boston Bradicich had 15 points to lead Merrimack Valley and Nic Oglesby added 13 points.
Trinity 54, Windham 45
The Jaguars had their five-game win streak snapped in a road loss to the Pioneers.
Jack Koutrobis had 17 points to lead Windham and Jack Murphy was also in double figures with 11 points.
