Around the Granite State: Pembroke field hockey gets OT win against Pelham
Here are Tuesday’s high school field hockey results.
PELHAM – Phoebe Morris scored with 2:01 left in overtime to give the Pembroke Academy field hockey team a 1-0 win Tuesday over Pelham
Annika Jawidzik finished with seven saves for the Spartans (4-4-1 in Division II), including a diving stop in the second quarter to keep it a scoreless game. Riley Caron also made a defensive save on a ball that got by Jawidzik, batting it away at the last second in the third quarter.
The Pythons (3-4-1) got two saves from Addie Breault while Jordan Robito and Sarah Coppinger played well.
Berlin 1, Bishop Brady 0
Olivia Richard scored the game’s lone goal with 6:23 left in the second quarter as the Mountaineers picked up a road win over the Giants.
Marlee Wedge and Caitlin Kelley recorded assists on the goal for Berlin (6-1) while Mckenna Kelley had 15 saves. Bishop Brady had eight penalty corners, to just two for Berlin, which received solid defense from Gabby Poulin, Lily Kelley and Kennah Scott.
Souhegan 7, Milford 0
Eme Godin had a goal and an assist as the Sabers rolled to a win over the Spartans.
Emily Facey, Ella Normandin, Caitlin Ridings, Hanalia Dykstra, Lily Goerlich and Avery Wyborney also had a goal apiece for Souhegan (4-3). Ella Russell and Maya Bagshaw each added an assist.
No. 8 Oyster River 2, Plymouth 0
Amy Watto played well in the midfield for Plymouth (6-3) and Carly Contini was solid defensively in the loss.
Merrimack Valley 4, Derryfield 0
The Pride got goals from four players in a win over the Cougars.
Marissa Kimball, Abbey Thompson, Izzy Tucker and Alyssa Brodeur scored a goal apiece for Merrimack Valley (6-2) while Kaiya Mercier, Lauren Bailey and Hannah Butler played well offensively.
