Around the Granite State: Pinkerton boys lacrosse cruises past Portsmouth
Here are results from Saturday’s high school lacrosse action.
The Pinkerton Academy boys lacrosse team took control of Saturday’s game against Portsmouth in the second quarter and never looked back in a 21-8 win.
Matt Gormady had six goals and four assists while Levi Weaver had six goals and two assists for the Astros (12-2, No. 2 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll). Tyler Pinardi added two goals and four assists and teamed with Dylan Stingel to have a strong performance on faceoffs.
Brady Blaszka had three assists and two groundballs and joined Brendan Carney and Nate Smith to lead the defense, while Owen Perkins made seven saves.
Trevor Sifferlen led the Clippers (10-3, No. 5) with four goals while Max Deneen had two scores. Sam Biddle added a goal and an assist and Cortland Barr also scored.
Merrimack 8, Goffstown 4
The Tomahawks led throughout to get a win over the Grizzlies.
Shea Scott and Cayden Dine each had three goals and an assist for Merrimack (8-4) while Sean Anderson scored twice and Josh Kahn had an assist.
Mason Tremblay recorded 17 saves and Landon Leblanc played well defensively.
No. 10 Coe-Brown 15, Bishop Brady 6
The Giants scored the most goals against the Bears’ defense this season, but couldn’t slow down Coe-Brown’s offense.
Joey Richardson had three goals and an assist for Bishop Brady (5-4) and Ryan Haught added a goal and an assist.
