Around the Granite State: Pinkerton boys lacrosse gets OT win over Portsmouth
Here are results from Saturday’s high school lacrosse action.
Matt Gormady had five goals and an assist to lead the Pinkerton Academy boys lacrosse team to a 10-9 overtime win Saturday morning on the road against Portsmouth.
Ben Quintiliani added two goals and three assists and Kyle Ushkevich had two goals and one assist for the Astros (10-3 in D1, No. 3 in the MerchSquared.com/NHHSSports Coaches Poll).
Levi Weaver also had a goal for Pinkerton while Dylan Stingle was 14 of 19 on faceoffs. Gavin Burwell made 23 saves while Nathan Smith and Ryan Hewes played well defensively.
The Clippers (8-5 in D2, No. 6) got six goals and an assist from Ben Purcell while Sam Biddle and Reilly Collins had a goal and an assist apiece. Henry Purcell also had a goal and Kai Paterson made 12 saves.
Coe-Brown 14, Bishop Brady 4
The Giants had their six-game win streak snapped in a road loss to the Bears.
Drake Bekar had three goals and an assist for Bishop Brady (6-3) while Joey Richardson also scored.
Girls Lacrosse
No. 7 Bedford 13, Salem 4 (Friday)
Katie Wood had two goals, but it wasn’t enough for the Blue Devils in a loss to the Bulldogs.
Emily Young and Grace Hoover also scored for Salem while Oliva Schoenrock made 10 saves and Zeynep Yildirim finished with three.
