DERRY – Meaghan Shea and Gwen Lee each scored two goals to lead the Pinkerton Academy field hockey team to a 5-3 win over Windham in the Division I opener for both teams.

Shea also had an assist for the Astros (1-0, No. 2 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) and Fran Doyle added a goal and two assists. Ayvree Hamilton also had an assist and played well defensively while Molly Kuncik made two  saves.

Emme Mulrenan scored twice for Windham (0-1) while Kendall Salvador had two assists. Rowan Bomba also scored and Jaidyn Seitzer had an assist while Dana McAleer finished with 13 saves. Ella Gallinelli and Abbie Petrini also played well for the Jaguars.

Pinkerton scored twice in the first five minutes of the game but Windham was able to make it a 2-1 game before the end of the first quarter. Lee scored just 20 seconds into the second and then made it 4-1 midway through the quarter.

The Jaguars scored off a penalty corner to open the second half and then made it a one-goal game with 9:04 remaining. Shea scored with 3:22 left in the game to put it away for the Astros.

No. 4 Dover 8, Manchester 0

Hannah Calhoun scored two goals, including one on a penalty stroke, and the Green Wave rolled to a season-opening victory over the Kings.

Mya Kageleiry, Hannah Deroy, Ella Deroy, Kate Daley, Lauren Lagasse and Sydney Lane also had a goal apiece for Dover and Scarlett Gray finished with three saves. Dover had 16 penalty corners for the game.

No. 9 Souhegan 6, Hanover 1

Scarlett Lecolst and Abbey Gray had two goals apiece to help the Sabers to an opening win against the Bears.

Mariellah Dart and Ori Dart each had a goal and an assist, with Ori Dart scoring on a penalty stroke. Ella Normandin added an assist and Amelia Warecki recorded eight saves for Souhegan.

John Stark 2, Plymouth 1

Zoe Lawson and Caylin Worthen each had a goal as the Generals opened with a road win against the Bobcats.

Lyla Raymond added an assist for John Stark and Rowin Leady played well in goal. Also playing well were Claudia Dustin, Kaitlin Dennis, Stella Oullette and Madelyn Landrigan.

Plymouth got a goal from Alexa Joyce while Lucia Sakin had an assist. Carmen Donis was solid in goal for the Bobcats and Ella Duchette played well.
