Around the Granite State: Pinkerton girls basketball pulls away from Trinity late
Here are results from Tuesday night’s high school girls basketball action.
Brooke Benz scored 17 points to help the Pinkerton Academy girls basketball team to a 45-33 win over Trinity on Tuesday.
Down two points at halftime, the Astros (7-5) took the lead in the third quarter and outscored the Pioneers (5-5) by 10 points in the fourth to grab the win.
Taya Brown finished with nine points and Avryee Hamilton also had seven points for Pinkerton.
Exeter 66, Spaulding 22
Lexy Rogers had 22 points, six steals and four assists as the Blue Hawks picked up a road win over the Red Raiders.
Jessica Melick had a double double with 17 points and 10 rebounds to go with four steals while Nicole Melick also had 17 points. Emme Kayes added nine rebounds and three assists for Exeter (6-4).
Bedford 55, Windham 16
Nine players scored to help the Bulldogs to a win over the Jaguars.
Mel McCarthy led the way for Bedford (9-1) with 17 points while Juliet Laws added eight points and Eva Zink scored six.
Liz Grasso and Madelyn Welby each had four points for Windham (6-4).
Oyster River 65, Plymouth 52
The Bobcats hit 11 3-pointers to get the win over the Bobcats.
Wren Horne had 18 points to lead Oyster River (7-3) while Grace Shulten-Neiweem and Ashling Ferris each had 12 points. Jazzy Alvarez was also in double figures with 10 points.
Hollis Brookline 48, Souhegan 38
The Cavaliers led 31-12 at halftime and were able to hold off a comeback by the Sabers in the second half.
Samantha Disco led HB (5-4) with 21 points, including four 3-pointers, and Ana O’Donnell finished with 17 points.
Souhegan (6-4) got 13 points from Julia Skelton and eight points from Brynn Siska while Zofia Rosenfield had all seven of her points in the second half.
Salem 43, Bishop Guertin 34
Morgann Raskow scored 15 points and had four steals to lead the Blue Devils past the Cardinals.
Makayla Burns added 11 points and nine rebounds for Salem (6-4) while Nicke Ringdahl had eight points and Liv DeFrancesco finished with 12 rebounds.
