Around the Granite State: Pinkerton girls basketball stops skid with win over Keene

The Pinkerton Academy girls basketball team broke open a close game in the third quarter and snapped a two-game skid with a 53-34 win over Keene on Tuesday.

The Astros (5-5) trailed by two after the first quarter but outscored the Blackbirds (5-3) 30-12 in the second half to get the win.

Brooke Benz and Taya Brown (four 3-pointers) each had 18 points to lead Pinkerton while Ayvree Hamilton hit two 3s for six points.

Bedford 51, Dover 19

Sarah Muir scored 17 points to help the Bulldogs get a road win over the Green Wave.

Juliet Laws added 12 points while Clare White and Mia Katane had six and five points, respectively, for Bedford (7-1).

Dover (0-9) got 13 points from Avery Littlefield.

Timberlane 58, Alvirne 42

Rylee Donahue scored 32 points to help the Owls pick up a win over the Broncos.

Donahue hit four 3-pointers and was 14 of 18 at the free throw line and Sam Mooney added 15 points for Timberlane (7-3), which led 30-17 at halftime.

Lexi Floyd had 14 points to lead Alvirne.

Nashua South 40, Salem 33

The Blue Devils dropped their third in a row, falling on the road to the Panthers.

Morgann Raskow led Salem (5-3) with 17 points.
