Around the Granite State: Portsmouth boys lacrosse holds on to beat Londonderry (video)

LONDONDERRY – Reilly Collins had four goals to help lead the Portsmouth High School boys lacrosse team to an 8-6 win Wednesday over Londonderry.

Trevor Sifferlen added two goals and an assist for the Clippers (5-2 in D2, No. 6 in the MerchSquared.com/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) and Sam Biddle and Sawyer Bouvier had a goal and an assist apiece.

Biddle also won 10 of 12 faceoffs and Kai Paterson finished with seven saves for Portsmouth.

Londonderry (3-2 in D1) got two goals from Trey Campbell while Owen Huard, Blake Thompson, Brody Campbell and Connor Woodward had a goal apiece.

Colby Walden added an assist while Broch St. Gelais made six saves and Cam Ayotte and Andrew Cote played well defensively.

It was a 2-2 game going into the second quarter, when Collins broke the tie with back-to-back goals. The Clippers took a 6-3 lead into halftime and it was 7-4 going into the fourth.

The Lancers twice made it a two-goal game, the second time on a goal by Trey Campbell with 8:13 remaining, but Londonderry couldn’t get any closer.

Windham 14, Nashua North 4

Sam Kramer scored three goals and had three assists to lift the Jaguars past the Titans.

Josh Trudel added four goals and an assist and Rob DiPietro won 18 of 20 faceoffs. Jack Tanso finished with 11 saves.

North got three goals from Dylan Noble and David Javier Theriault-Lago recorded an assist. Josh Parsons made 16 saves.

No. 3 Pinkerton 17, Nashua South 1

Matt Gormady had four goals and three assist and the Astros rolled past the Panthers.

Jackson Farrell chipped in with three goals and an assist and Tyler Pinardi had two goals and two assists for Pinkerton (6-0). James Delanoy added his first varsity goal as well.

Dylan Stingel, Aiden Jones and Tyler Pinardi combined to go 15 of 18 on faceoffs while Owen Perkins and Gavin Burwell split time in goal. Brenden Carney, Jackson Chase and Brady Blaszka played well defensively for Pinkerton.

Timberlane 13, Dover 6

Rocco Psareas had six goals and two assists to help lead the Owls to the win over the Green Wave.

Gio Recesso added three goals and two assists while Landon Petry had a goal and three assists and Cam Bonfiglio scored twice. Gaven Dubois chipped in with a goal and an assist and Bradyn Gillespie had an assist.

Joseph Hughes finished with 14 saves and Mark St. Jean won 16 faceoffs.

Dover got five goals from Cooper Ketcham. Kyle Behan also had a goal for Dover while Parker Ketcham and Logan Carter each had an assist.

Merrimack Valley 8, Manchester 6

Jake Demers had three goals and an assist to lead the Pride past the Kings.

Conner Hanson added two goals and Mike Heine and Matt Lauren had a goal and an assist apiece. Colin Reardon also scored and Tyler Carter recorded two assists while Brady Rathburn had an assist for his first varsity point.

Carter Lankhorst won 12 faceoffs and had an assist and seven groundballs and Mike Kingsbury finished with 11 saves.

Girls Lacrosse

Salem 19, Manchester Memorial 3

Katie Wood scored five goals and Emily Young had four to lead the Blue Devils to their first win of the season.

Haylee Bernard and Lily George each added two goals for Salem while Madison Wilson, Grace Hoover, Mia Molino, Makayla Burns, Laila Galvez and Morgann Raskow had a goal apiece.

Olivia Schoenrock played the first quarter and made two saves and Zeynep Yildirim made six saves the rest of the way.

No. 3 Pinkerton 16, Hanover 8

Hannah Lisauskas had six goals and seven assists, including the 300th point of her career, to help lead the Astros to the win.

Delanie Summer added four goals and Francesca Doyle scored three times for Pinkerton (6-1). Elise Collins, Bella Petralia and Melyana Mara chipped in with a goal apiece and Sara DiClemente finished with nine saves.

No. 6 Exeter 14, No. 4 Bedford 10

Hailey O’Kane scored twice, including the 200th point of her career, as the Blue Hawks picked up their first win over the Bulldogs since 2015.

Karli Scherpf led Exeter (7-1) with four goals and an assist and Anna Lieberman had three goals and an assist. Phoebe Christenson also scored a goal and had an assist.

Ellie Dean, Riley Benevides, Claire Wilhelm and Racquel Battle added a goal apiece and Molly Byrne made 10 saves for the Blue Hawks.

Dover 10, Timberlane 9 (2OT)

The Owls got three goals and two caused turnovers from Ella Watts but fell to the Green Wave in overtime.

Julia Johnson added two goals, two caused turnovers and three draw controls while Ella Lampron had two goals, one assist, three caused turnovers and four draw controls.

Lulu Trasatti (groundball) and Aubrey Fitzgerald added a goal apiece and Alexa Ring had three draw controls. Kayla Apitz made five saves for Timberlane while Tatenda Chanakira, Emma Norcott and Mia Morrier played well defensively.
