Around the Granite State: Salem girls basketball rolls past Nashua South

SALEM – The Salem High School girls basketball team took control of Tuesday night’s game against Nashua South early and never looked back in a 73-32 win.

Lillian George had a game-high 25 points, including three 3-pointers, while Ella Mosto added 18 points and three 3s of her own for the Blue Devils (7-2 in Division I). Lindsay Goetz recorded 12 points and Makayla Burns chipped in with nine points.

The Panthers (4-5) got 17 points from Nicole De Jesus, as she also hit three 3s, and Addie Borden had six points on two 3s.

Bedford 68, Dover 31

Kate Allard scored 19 points to help the Bulldogs improve to 9-0 in D1 after a win against the Green Wave.

Ava Collins added 10 points while Sarah Muir, Bella Landies and Mel McCarthy scored nine points apiece.

Dover (4-5) got 12 points each from Avery Littlefield (two 3s) and Lilly Nossiff.

Pinkerton 59, Keene 31

The Astros picked up their fourth win in a row by pulling away from the Blackbirds in the second quarter.

Pinkerton (8-1) held a 19-4 edge in the second frame, and for the game, got 21 points from Kaylee Dupuis, as she hit five 3-pointers. Sydney Gerossie added 13 points, with three 3s, and Mia Marshall was in double figures with 10 points.

McKenna Nelson led Keene (5-3) with14 points, going 8 of 12 at the free throw line, while grabbing 11 rebounds, and Harper Zalaski had 12 points and seven rebounds.

Alvirne 62, Timberlane 33

The Owls got 20 points from Rylee Donahue, but it wasn’t enough against the Broncos.

Donahue had three 3-pointers for Timberlane (5-5) while Ella Lampron had five points.

Alvirne got 20 points from Courtney Anderson and 13 points from Ella Hartson. Lexi Floyd chipped in with eight markers.

Portsmouth 54, Spaulding 18

Sydney Daly opened the game with a pair of 3s for the Red Raiders but the lead was short-lived in a loss to the Clippers.

Daly finished with nine points for Spaulding and Meagan Uraskevich added six.

Bridget Emery led Portsmouth with 18 points and Ella Fletcher added 10 points.

Belmont 65, Inter-Lakes 26

Jenna Laramie scored 14 points to help lead the Red Raiders past the Lakers.

Maddie Carrier and Bailey Perkins each had 12 points and Mia Ellis had 11 for Belmont.

Riley Anderson scored 20 points to lead Inter-Lakes.

Boys Basketball

Campbell 75, Hillsboro-Deering 53

The Cougars picked up their sixth win in a row by beating the Hillcats on Monday.

Jack Breton led Campbell (9-1 in D3) with 21 points and Logan Rice added 20 markers. Matthew Haley chipped in with 13 points in the win.

Alvirne 74, Timberlane 43

The Broncos won their second straight with a victory over the Owls.

Sammy DeWitt led the way for Alvirne (5-4) with 26 points while Gabe Conrow added 15 points on five 3-pointers.

Manchester Memorial 80, Windham 63

Christian Bilolo had a double double to help lead the Crusaders to a big win over the Jaguars.

Bilolo had 34 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for Memorial and Jack Brooks added 27 points and eight boards.

Brandon Jacobs led Windham with 19 points while Jack Murphy had 13 points and Jack Koutrobis recorded 12 points.

Belmont 67, Inter-Lakes 40

Keegan Martinez had 21 points to lead the Red Raiders to a win over the Lakers.

Anikan Underhill added 18 points for Belmont (9-1) and Brady Thurber chipped in with 11 points.

Gymnastics

Blackbirds take 2nd

Keene competed in a four-team meet on Monday, finishing second behind Bedford, and ahead of Pelham and Exeter, at Gymnastics Village in Amherst. The Blackbirds had a team scored of 122.85, while the Bulldogs finished with a score of 142.

Olivia Adams was the top finisher for Keene, coming in fourth in the all-around with a total score of 31.0. Bedford’s Lucy Kaupp was first with a score of 37.7.

Erin French finished with a score of 9.0 on the floor, 8.4 on the bars  and 7.8 on the beam for Keene. Adams had a score of 8.5 on the floor, 8.2 on the vault and 7.7 on the beam while Andrea Pearsall also recorded a score of 8.2 on the vault and 8.0 on the beam.
