Around the Granite State: Saturday’s Roundup
The Nashua High School South girls lacrosse team broke open a tie game early in the second half on the way to a 14-7 win over Timberlane on Saturday.
Tied 4-4 at the break, the Panthers (6-3) scored seven goals in the first six minutes of the half.
Olivia Johnson led the way with five goals and four assists while Kaitlyn West had three goals, three assists and three groundballs. Ella Benzekri also had three goals, three groundballs and six draw controls.
Soleil Dubois had two goals and caused two turnovers and Maddie Matelewski added a goal and three draw controls. Audrey Mullaney made six saves while Aryanna Murray, Cate Harrington, Bailey Carroll and Maya Rioux played well defensively.
Timberlane got three goals apiece from Kendall Morrill and Avery Bowman.
Pinkerton 18, Winnacunnet 8
Amu Quigley scored six goals to lead the Astros to a win over the Warriors.
Abby Jowett had five goals and two assists and Caroline Daziel had three goals and two assists while Caitlyn Seleny assisted on five goals.
Ali Lamphere added two goals and Justin Doyle had a goal and an assist, while Tatum Howe added a goal and Peyton Knowlton recorded an assist. Lauren Sweeney and Naomi Manczywor each had four saves.
Alvirne 11, Concord Christian 7
The Broncos picked up the win Friday behind 21 saves from Zaira O’Leary and three goals and two assists from Hailey Rhamalinho.
Madison Nicolosi had two goals, three assists and four draw controls and Halle Miller added two goals, two assists and six draw controls. Elsa Ferullo and Charlotte Maloney had two goals and an assist apiece.
St. Thomas 16, Kingswood 7
The Saints picked up the win Friday behind five goals from Brooke Chandler, including the 100th point of her career.
Sarah Leahy added four goals and Megan Leahy recorded three. Jaimie Murray also had two goals while Kylie Youngclaus and Ella Kuselias each had one. Becca Harmon made seven saves.
St. Thomas 15, Campbell 6
The Saints grabbed their third win of the week by beating the Cougars on Saturday.
Chandler had seven goals and two assists while Sarah Leahy scored four goals. Sarah Anderson and Megan Leahy each had two goals.
Murray and Katherine Dornan each had a goal and Harmon made 11 saves.
Exeter 13, Londonderry 11
Erin McIlroy scored five goals and Emily LaPia had four to lead the Blue Hawks to the win over the Lancers on Friday.
Casey More added three goals and Sydney Taylor had a goal and an assist for Exeter.
Londonderry got five goals from Jenna Stowell while Izzy Augusta had two goals.
Boys Lacrosse
Pinkerton 16, Winnacunnet 4
The Astros (7-2, No. 3 in the NHHSS Coaches Poll) handed the Warriors (7-1, No. 7) their first loss of the season on Saturday.
Mason Barbone led Pinkerton with four goals and four assists while Hunter Drouin added three goals and an assist and Ryan Lynch also scored three goals.
Declan Turner had two goals while Riley Spellman and Michael Uber had a goal and an assist apiece. Liam Prescott and Joey Gallo also scored and Andy MacDonald had an assist.
Tyler LeBlanc (four) and Curtis Michaud (five) combined for nine saves while Cole Frank was 14 of 20 on faceoffs.
Jack Ellis, Ben Merrick and Colin Kimball had a goal and an assist each while Caleb White also scored for the Warriors.
Bishop Guertin 13, Concord 2
The Cardinals (9-0, No. 1) scored eight goals in the first quarter and cruised to a win over the Crimson Tide.
Jon Krikorian had three goals and an assist and Declan Wilkie added two goals and two assists. Connor Bouvier, Connor Hughes, Kevin Broderick, Emerson Warren, Brady Dumont and Tanner McLaughlin also scored for Bishop Guertin.
Aiden Laurendeau had two assists while Alex Dumont and Connor Guibord had an assist each. Michael MacDonough had four saves and Will Murphy and Matthew Peicker had three each.
