Around the Granite State: Souhegan field hockey hands John Stark 1st loss (video)
Here are results from Friday’s high school sports action.
AMHERST – Eme Godin had two goals to lead the Souhegan High School field hockey team to a 4-2 win Friday over John Stark.
Abby Mayo and Scarlett Lecolst also had a goal apiece for the Sabers (7-0, No. 6 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll), who snapped a five-game winless streak against the Generals (7-1-1, No. 10).
Ella Russell, Mariellah Dart and Flora Kerwin each had an assist for Souhegan.
Addie DeCew and Ava Friberg had a goal apiece for John Stark while Maxine Lundeen had an assist.
The win for the Sabers ended an 0-4-1 stretch against the Generals and was their first since beating John Stark on Sept. 28, 2019.

Hopkinton 6, Monadnock 0
Autumn Meier had two goals and two assists to help the Hawks beat the Huskies.
Mary Maughan, Ryan Barrett and Lauren Vetter added a goal and an assist apiece for Hopkinton (5-0) while Zoe Duquette scored her first varsity goal off an assist from Carlie Leino.
Maddie Dwyer, Sophia Sweet and Gigi Upton played well defensively in the win.
Makayla Harwood had 10 saves for Monadnock (2-3).
No. 7 Oyster River 1, Lebanon 0
Eliza Farwell scored the only goal of the game for the Bobcats in a road win over the Raiders.
Hannah Main, Grace Harvey and Nora Rodgers were solid on defense and in the midfield for Oyster River (7-0).
Exeter 7, Nashua South 1
Addie Borden had the lone goal for the Panthers as they fell on the road to the Blue Hawks.
Sofia Forti assisted on the goal while Meury Navarette had 11 saves and Lily Hurd had four for South (1-7). Keegan Dolan, Wylie Hart and Maddie Langer played well for the Panthers.
Plymouth 4, Kennett 3 (Thursday)
The Bobcats rallied from two goals down in the second half to knock off the Eagles.
Lexi Joyce had two goals, including the game-winner with three minutes remaining in regulation, while Trista Strickland added a goal and an assist for Plymouth (6-2).
Aaliyah Muzzey also had a goal and Amelia Avery and Lucia Sakin each had an assist while freshman Serena McKenney played defensively and Carmen Donis was solid in goal in the second half.
Girls Volleyball
Hollis Brookline 3, Exeter 0
The Cavaliers recorded a sweep of the Blue Hawks. Game scores were 26-24, 25-20 and 25-13.
Sam Burke had five kills and three aces and Hershey Vedula had five kills and one ace for HB (3-4). Shelby Klassens also had five kills in the win.
