Around the Granite State: Souhegan field hockey holds off Kingswood (video)

AMHERST – Eme Godin had a goal and an assist to help lead the Souhegan High School field hockey team to a 2-1 win Tuesday night over Kingswood.

Godin scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with 2:19 left in the third quarter and assisted on a goal by Ori Dart with 9:11 remaining in the second quarter to put the Sabers (9-4) ahead. Amelia Warecki finished with four saves in goal.

Ava Cole scored for the Knights (4-8-1) off a rebound with 8:36 to go in the game to cut the lead to one. Jaylen Lovering had an assist on the goal and Izzy Bush made 12 saves.

John Stark 6, Milford 0

Caylin Worthen had three goals to lead the Generals to the win over the Spartans.

Jillian Fredette added two goals and two assists and Claudia Dustin scored on a penalty stroke and had an assist for John Stark (11-2).

Emelie Lundeen also had an assist while Karrington Telgen and Paityn Niquette played well at midfield and Adie Bolduc and Emily Fredette were solid on defense.

Girls Volleyball

Hollis Brookline 3, Winnacunnet 0

The Cavaliers picked up the sweep of the Warriors on the road. Game scores were 25-17, 26-24 and 25-18.

Anika Carlson had 12 kills and six aces and Kate Berrigan had eight kills and one ace while Lolly Adair had three kills and four aces. Maggie Noble recorded three kills and Angelina Dillberg added three aces.
