Around the Granite State: Souhegan girls basketball grabs win over Plymouth
Here are results from the weekend’s high school basketball action.
Julia Skelton scored a career high in points and the Souhegan High School girls basketball team beat Plymouth 59-43 on Monday night.
Skelton hit five 3-pointers and finished with 22 points as the Sabers (10-5 in Division II) win their third in a row and fourth in the last five games. Souhegan broke open a tie game with a 10-0 run late in the first half and led the rest of the way.
Nayaa Dineshkumer added 14 points while Brynn Siska and Mariellah Dart had six points apiece.
The Bobcats (4-11) got 22 points, including two 3s, from Lily Palombo and eight points from Ella Doucette.
Bedford 61, Pinkerton 33 (Saturday)
Mel McCarthy scored 14 points to help the Bulldogs get their second win in 20 hours, as they knocked off the Astros.
Sarah Muir had 11 points while Clare White and Adra Casey each hit two 3s while finishing with 10 and 8 points, respectively. Juliet Laws chipped in with six points for Bedford (14-1).
Taya Brown led Pinkerton (7-8) with 11 points and Brooke Benz had nine points while Julia Caruso recorded six markers.
Boys Basketball
Windham 65, Concord 47
The Jaguars snapped a two-game skid with a win over the Crimson Tide on Monday.
Sam Roidoulis scored 26 points to lead Windham (9-6) and Brandon Jacobs finished with 12 points.
