Around the Granite State: St. Thomas girls lacrosse gets in front early to beat Derryfield (video)

MANCHESTER – Talula Gregg scored 10 goals to help lead the St. Thomas Aquinas High School girls lacrosse team to a 22-11 win Wednesday over Derryfield.

Charlotte De Tolla added five scores, including the 200th goal of her high school career, for the Saints (6-2) while Lizzy Holden, Julia Bryan and Annita Parmelee scored two goals apiece. Lucy Broom also had a goal.

Reese Foss and Cara Forest combined to make four saves while Lena Shaheen and Izzy Taylor played well defensively.

Maddy Paolino led the Cougars (5-3) with five goals while Finley Llewellyn, Chloe Larson and Reagan Ayers each two goals. Charlotte Belanger also had an assist while Noelanni Hunter finished with nine saves.

The Saints broke open a close game by outscoring the Cougars 7-2 in the second quarter to take a 14-5 lead at halftime.

No. 7 Winnacunnet 22, Keene-Monadnock 7

Elle Emery had four goals and three assists to help the Warriors get past the Blackbirds.

McKinley Fowler added four goals and an assist and Hannah Curtin had three goals and two assists for Winnacunnet (6-2, No. 7 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll). Arri Rizzo added three goals and Addy McErlain scored twice while Annika Jacques and Leah Costa had a goal and an assist apiece.

Emily Arlington, Fiona McAfee, Ruby Lang and May Mitchell each add a goal as well.

No. 10 Nashua South 14, Nashua North 3

Carly Benzekri scored six goals, including her 100th career point, to help the Panthers beat the Titans in the Battle of the Bridge.

Lexi McGuire added two goals and two assists while Briley Landsteiner and Gemma Williams had two goals and an assist apiece for South (7-2). Isabelle Picanco had a goal and Wylie Hart had an assist while Ava LaCrosse scored her first varsity goal.

Emma Herlihy finished with three saves while Nitzann Alkalay, Karina Santana, Maddie Langer and Nicole De Jesus played well defensively.

North (0-7) got three goals from Savanna Basford.

No. 2 Souhegan 18, Dover 1

Libby Kennedy scored six goals to lead the Sabers to a road win over the Green Wave.

Izzy Stevenson added two goals and six assists and Lanai Hickman had three goals for Souhegan (7-1) while Averie Curran dished out four assists and Emmie Curran chipped in two goals and a helper.

Meredith Heimark, Abbey Gray, Maddy Behn, Haley Christianson and Emilia Koch added a goal apiece.

No. 9 Timberlane 22, Oyster River-Newmarket 12

The Owls continued their torrid offensive pace in a road win over the Bobcats.

Rylee Donahue had eight goals and two assists to go with eight draw controls and five caused turnovers while Lila Fitzgerald had six goals, two assists and three draw controls for Timberlane (8-1). Ava Paul added five goals and Aubrey Fitzgerald had a goal and two assists.

Julia Johnson also had a goal, an assist, four draw controls and two caused turnovers, while Grace Gerhard chipped in a goal. Elle Sarcion and Mackenzie Laschi each had two caused turnovers while Alexa Ring, Kasey Fitzgerald and Mackenzie Norcott also played well.

Kayla Apitz finished with three saves for the Owls.

Goffstown 21, Alvirne 1

Paige Winters and Maeve Hammond each had three goals to lead the Grizzlies past the Broncos.

Trinity Lunn, Thea Souch and Caroline Kelly added two goals apiece while Sydney Lavoie had a goal and three assists for Goffstown (4-2). Mia Brisette scored a goal and had two assists while Khloe Veary and Jenna Shannon had a goal and an assist each.

Mackenna Fisher, Lilli Connor, Sinead Brunton, Emma Bird and Marina DeMarco had a goal apiece and Ella Coletti recorded an assist.

Boys Lacrosse

Windham 18, Salem 6

Sam Kramer (one assist) and Josh Trudel each had five goals to help lead the Jaguars to a win over the Blue Devils.

Evan DellOrfano added two goals and two assists and Cameron Terry had four goals and an assist for Windham (6-3). Trevor Labonville scored his first varsity goal and Tyler DellOrfano added an assist.

Ethan Peluso had nine groundballs and Nolan Lamb recorded an assist and had four groundballs.

Kingswood 10, Hanover 9

The Knights rallied from an early four-goal deficit to get the win over the Bears on a goal by Collin Pelletier with one second remaining.

Pelletier, who had a team-high three goals, scooped up a groundball near midfield with Kingswood (5-1) a mandown in the final minute, and finished off the win. Atley Rollins recorded nine saves to help the Knights get the win.

Nashua North 14, Nashua South 13

The Titans edged out the Panthers to grab the Monsen Cup.

Nico Bottari had five goals and Nick Wilkinson added four goals for North (2-7). Gavin Dungan also scored three times while Josh Parson finished with 19 saves.

No. 8 Dover 18, Keene-Monadnock 7

Porter Gray had six goals and five assists to lead the Green Wave to a road win over the Blackbirds.

Cooper Ketcham had two goals and five assists and Parker Ketcham had three goals and four assists for Dover (5-3). Logan Carter added three goals and three assists while Sylas Brown had four goals.

Owen Wood and Danny Tolled combined to go 22 of 29 on faceoffs.

ConVal 8, Campbell 7 (OT)

Will O’Brien made 20 saves but the Cougars came up short in overtime against the Cougars.

Eddie Mahoney and Matthew Decarli each scored twice for Campbell (3-4) while Nate Lencki had a goal and two assists and Tyler Breton had a goal and an assist. Evan Molino also had a goal.

Plymouth 11, Laconia 9

The Bobcats late to take the lead and held on for a road win over the Sachems.

Laconia (3-4) got four goals from Rock Londer and three goals and an assist from Paul Ganchi. Brady Kegan had a goal and an assist while Kam Theos had a goal and Cam Lacroix had an assist.

Alex Prescott finished with 14 saves for the Sachems.

No. 6 Derryfield 19, Pembroke 3

Ryan Maxwell had four goals and two assists to help the Cougars to a win over the Spartans in a game that was played at Southern New Hampshire University.

Dom Cercone added two goals and two assists while Emerson Stover and Sebastian Wright each had two goals and one assist for Derryfield (8-1). Garrett Lande also scored two goals and Vittorio Masoni dished out three assists.

Heath Mueller and Lukas Gaff had a goal and an assist apiece while Alex May, Charlie Rousseau, Isaac Kosakowski and Griffin Kim all scored. Mitch Labbe and Henry Fleit had an assist apiece while Liam England (six saves) and Ryder Proulx (two) played well in goal.

Chase Boggs, Gabe Johnson and Colin Dube had a goal apiece for Pembroke (0-8) while Lucas Girouard had an assist and Shane Eldridge made nine saves.

Boys Volleyball

Pinkerton 3, Hollis Brookline 0

The Cavaliers dropped a match on the road to the Astros. Game scores were 25-16, 25-18 and 25-23.

Zac Wu and Jameson Evelyn played well for HB while Ben LeClerc had seven kills. Danigan Koenig was solid defensively.
