Around the Granite State: St. Thomas girls lacrosse gets win over Derryfield
Here are results from Thursday’s high school lacrosse action.
Lizzy Holden scored six goals to help the St. Thomas Aquinas High School girls lacrosse team to a 17-14 win Thursday over Derryfield.
Charlotte De Tolla and Talula Gregg each added four goals for the Saints (5-1 in D3) while Reece Anderson scored twice and Julia Bryan had a goal.
Kensely Harris made her second start in goal and finished with 12 saves while Ava Lyder and Vanessa Williams played well defensively.
Boys Lacrosse
Longmeadow (Mass.) 16, No. 3 Pinkerton 8
The Astros dropped their first game of the season, falling at home to the Lancers.
Matt Gormady had two goals and an assist and Kyle Ushkevich scored twice for Pinkerton (6-1, No. 3 in the MerchSquared.com/NHHSSports Coaches Poll). Ben Quintiliani also had a goal and an assist.
Nate Smith, Ryan Hewes and Brenden Carney played well defensively while Dylan Stingel, Aiden Jones and Tyler Pinardi combined to go 10 of 22 on faceoffs.
