Around the Granite State: Timberlane boys lacrosse beats Oyster River-Newmarket in 3OTs

Gio Recesso scored the game-winning goal in the third overtime to lift the Timberlane Regional High School boys lacrosse team to an 8-7 win Wednesday over Oyster River-Newmarket.

Recesso had two goals and two assists and Rocco Psareas added two goals and one assist for the Owls (7-1, No. 10 in the MerchSquared.com/NHHSSports Coaches Poll). Landon Petry also had a goal and an assist in the win.

Gaven Dubois, Brayden Gillespie and Nicholas Vaccarezza scored a goal apiece for Timberlane while Mark St. Jean won 11 faceoffs. Joseph Hughes made 19 saves, including his 100th save of the season.

Hollis Brookline 13, St. Thomas 12

The Cavaliers came back from a six-goal deficit to get the road win over the Saints.

JP Torgersen had three goals and three assists for HB while Noah Taylor had a goal and four assists and Mike O’Hearn had four goals and an assist. Colin Magnuszewski and Bennett Torgersen had two goals and an assist apiece.

Sam Petrella added a goal and an assist while Patrick Masoni also had a goal and joined Tyler Allen, Aiden O’Hearn and Vittorio Masoni to play well defensively. Levi Mitchell finished with seven saves.

Dover 7, Keene-Monadnock 3

Cooper Ketcham had two goals and two assists to lead the Green Wave past the Blackbirds in a game played at Seacoast United in Epping.

Tobey Desoches also had two goals for Dover (4-5) while Kyle Behan and Logan Carter had a goal apiece. Tommy Rand also scored his first varsity goal in the win and Ben Tower and Parker Ketcham each had an assist.

Owen Wood was 10 of 14 on faceoffs and Danny Bretz made 11 saves. Bryson Glidden, Ryan Hebert and Geffen Adorian played well defensively for the Green Wave.

No. 6 Portsmouth 8, No. 7 Winnacunnet 6

The Clippers fell behind 4-0 early and trailed by one going into the fourth before coming back for the win.

Henry Purcell led Portsmouth with four goals while Sam Biddle had two goals and an assist while going 11 of 18 on faceoffs. Masi Shone added a goal and two assists while Jack Martin had a goal and Sawyer Bouvier had an assist.

Kai Paterson finished with nine saves for the Clippers.

Beckett Rath had two goals and two assists to lead Winnacunnet while Spencer Zigler also scored twice. Alec Mitchell added a goal and an assist and Liam McNally also scored.

Joel Williams recorded 12 saves for the Warriors.

Bow 19, Stevens 1

The Falcons improved to 6-0 on the season, getting out to a 15-0 lead in the first half in a win over the Cardinals.

Sam Bennett had five goals and an assist for Bow while Wyatt Premo scored three goals and had an assist. Niko Mallios had two goals and two assist while Devon St. Cyr and Jake Antuna had a goal and two assists apiece; Antuna also was 13 of 13 on faceoffs.

Brenda O’Keeffe had a goal and an assist while Kian O’Leary, Adam Lafferty, David Izzi, Harrison Fournior, Cavot Blaney and Benny Reardon had a goal apiece. Ethan Herrick had an assist and Brad Ekstrom made six saves.

No. 3 Pinkerton 16, No. 9 Londonderry 9

The Astros ended the game on a 5-0 run to capture a win over the Lancers.

Matt Gormady had six goals and two assists to lead Pinkerton (8-2) while Jeff Gormady had three goals and two assists. Ben Quintiliani added three goals and Levi Weaver and Kyle Ushkevich had two goals apiece.

Goalie Gavin Burwell and Ronan Connors played well defensively while Dylan Stingel, Aiden Jones and Tyler Pinardi combined to win 21 of 24 faceoffs.

Salem 14, Windham 10

The Jaguars dropped their fourth game in the last five, falling on the road to the Blue Devils.

Evan Ardizzone led Windham with four goals while Evan Dell Orfano scored twice. Josh Trudel and Sam Kramer each had a goal.

No. 5 Derryfield 17, Pembroke 1

Ryan Maxwell had four goals and an assist to help the Cougars get past the Spartans.

Brady Doldo (two assists) and RJ Proulx added three goals apiece while Dom Cercone had two goals and four assists and Emerson Stover also scored twice.

Jackson Hatfield added a goal and an assist and teamed with Dylan Clyne, Awaab Mousa and Isaac Kosakowski to go 18 of 22 on faceoffs. Garrett Lande and Alex May also had a goal apiece and Lukas Gaff had an assist.

Liam England finished with seven saves and Jaxon DeYoung recorded three stops.

Gabriel Johnson had the lone goal for Pembroke.

Pelham 16, Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough 6

Aidan Cote scored four goals and had three assists as the Pythons picked up a win over the Lakers.

Chris Swiniarski added three goals and three assists and Ben Howe also scored three times. Jake Suliveras (one assist) and Mason Frechette added two goals apiece while Matthew Sprague had a goal and an assist and won 20 of 23 faceoffs.

Jacoby Lee made 16 saves for Pelham while Mark Waden and Junior MacKinnon also played well.

No. 4 Exeter 12, No. 8 Merrimack 1

The Tomahawks fell on the road against the Blue Hawks, with Sean Anderson scoring the lone goal for Merrimack. Mason Tremblay finished with 18 saves and Quinn Curren had five.

Nashua South 12, Nashua North 2

The Titans got a goal apiece from Nick Wilkinson and Dylan Noble in a loss to the Panthers. Josh Parsons finished with 21 saves for North.

Girls Lacrosse

No. 2 Pinkerton 18, Londonderry 13

Hannah Lisausaks had four goals and five assists to lead the Astros to the road win over the Lancers.

Francesca Doyle added four goals and two assists and Delaney Summers also scored four times for Pinkerton (10-1). Mia Eckerman had two goals and Elise Collins had a goal and an assist in the win.

Ava Micheline, Ashley Clouthier and Lexi Last added a goal apiece and Sara DiClemente finished with three saves.

No. 8 Merrimack 13, Hollis Brookline 6

Payton Trepaney had four goals, three assists and four groundballs as the Tomahawks picked up a win over the Cavaliers.

Riley Taylor added three goals, two assists and 10 draw controls for Merrimack (7-0) while Ava Martin had two goals, one assist and four draw controls and Jackie Hayes had two goals, one assist and two groundballs.

Lexi Bell and Ava Woods added a goal apiece and Sophia Richard finished with five saves.

No. 7 Nashua South 19, Nashua North 3

Maren Lowell scored five goals to surpass the 200th career point mark and she also recorded her 200th career draw control in the Panthers win over the Titans.

Carly Benzekri added four goals and Addie Borden had three for South while Saige Devins had two goals and an assist and Karina O’Donnell had a goal and two assists.

Nevaeh Eppolito also scored while Nitzann Alkalay (two assists), Molly Mullaney and Aubrey Rose each scored their first varsity goals. Lilee Petricca (two saves) and Emma Herlihy split time in goal while Lexi McGuire, Maddie Langer and Karina Santana played well defensively.

No. 5 Souhegan 17, Dover 3

Izzy Stevenson scored six goals and had two assists and four draw controls to lead the Sabers past the Green Wave.

Libby Kenney had five goal, one assist and six draw controls while Emmie Curran had two goals, one assist and four draw controls and Abby Giannetti had a goal and three assists.

Averie Curren (two groundballs) and Lanai Hickman (two caused turnovers, three groundballs) had a goal and an assist apiece while Hailey Christianson had a goal and Eme Godin had an assist.

Natalie Heimarck had four groundballs and three draw controls while Sophie Jacobs and Eva Stiles had two groundballs each. Marley Bacon, Maddie Behn and Emma Crisman also played well for Souhegan.

Goffstown 14, Alvirne 7

Peyton Duff scored four goals to help lead the Grizzlies past the Broncos.

Paige Winters (one assist) and Sydney Love added three goals apiece for Goffstown and Addison Glejzer had two goals and three assists. Trinity Lunn chipped in with two goals and two assists.

Cadence Bice and Audrienna Chipperini each had three goals for Alvirne while Alanna Tardiff also scored. Fiona Duggan made 14 saves and Reese Durkee played well defensively.

Windham 10, Salem 8

Katie Wood scored eight goals for the Blue Devils, but they came up short in a road loss to the Jaguars.

Lily Burke, Lily George, Nicole Ringdahl and Grave Hoover added a goal apiece for Salem and Olivia Schoenrock finished with 11 saves.

Hopkinton 12, Coe-Brown 7

Sydney Westover had six goals and an assist to lead the Hawks to a win over the Bears.

Marcella Guadagno also had three goals and Maeve Owens scored twice for Hopkinton.

Coe-Brown got goals from Avery Keefe, Alexis Thomas, Morgan Readel, Brooke Kozlowski, Rose Bean and Lillian Peabody. Alexis Muse finished with 12 saves while Kenzie Silva, Amirah Rhofiry and Bre Peters played well defensively.

Merrimack Valley 14, Spaulding 3

Sarah Lin had a goal and two assists for the Red Raiders in a road loss to the Pride.

Sydney Cormier and Aivah Helton added a goal apiece for Spaulding and Izzy Orrell had 12 saves.

Boys Volleyball

Hollis Brookline 3, Pinkerton 0

The Cavaliers picked up a road win over the Astros. Game scores were 25-15, 25-20 and 25-15.

Ethan Norris led the way for HB (7-0) with 27 kills and 10 digs, giving him 505 career digs, which is among the most all-time in the state for career records.

Matteo Morel added seven kills and 11 service points and Alex Howe had four kills and six aces.
