Around the Granite State: Timberlane boys lacrosse bounces back with win

Rocco Psareas scored six goals and had two assists to help the Timberlane Regional High School boys lacrosse team to a 17-5 win over Nashua North on Wednesday.

Landon Petry (one assist) and Gaven Dubois each had four goals for the Owls (10-3, No. 10 in the MerchSquared.com/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) while Spencer Munson also scored twice.

Cam Bonfiglio added a goal and an assist while Nicholas Vacarezza, Dylan Lindblad and Trevor Rego each had an assist. Mark St. Jean won 10 faceoffs and Joseph Hughes made nine saves, leaving him one shy of two hundred for his career.

North got three goals from Nick Wilkinson and two goals from Nico Bottari. Dylan Noble finished two assists and Josh Parsons made 16 saves.

Bishop Brady 14, John Stark 4

Joey Richardson led the Giants with four goals and five assists in a win over the Generals.

Cam Fortier added four goals and an assist while Thadeus Schmolke had two goals and two assists for Bishop Brady. Grant Sexton also had two goals and an assist and Bohden Esty-Lennon scored twice.

No. 7 Winnacunnet 10, Kingswood 4

Alec Mitchell had three goals and an assist and won 17 of 18 faceoffs to help the Warriors get past the Knights.

Liam McNally added two goals and two assists and Spencer Ziegler had two goals and an assist for Winnacunnet. Brian McCown also scored twice and Becket Rath had a goal.

Burke Spalding, Hale Dodier and Will Granger each had an assist in the win.

Myles O’Keefe and Keller Peacock each had a goal for Kingswood.

No. 6 Portsmouth 17, Merrimack Valley 8

Henry Purcell had four goals and Reilly Collins had three goals and two assists for the Clippers in a win over the Pride.

Gus Baker also had three goals and Ben Purcell and Alec Lawton had two goals and an assist each. Sam Biddle had a goal and two assists and was 12 of 16 on faceoffs while Thijs Beelen had a goal and an assist.

Cortland Barr also scored while Sawyer Bouvier, Masi Shone and Gus Alati each had an assist. Kai Paterson had six saves while Andy Brown, Ethan Lander and Max Russman played well defensively.

No. 9 Merrimack 12, Salem 0

Jake Miller got his first points of the season, scoring a goal and dishing out three assists, to help the Tomahawks to a win over Salem.

Sean Anderson had three goals and an assist and Peyton Connelly had three goals for Merrimack while Max Giles had two goals and two assists. Henry Tobin also scored twice and had an assist while Nathaniel Bergen also scored and Cayden Dine and Bret Vietry each had an assist.

Vietry, Colby Smit and Gavin Hickey played well defensively and Mason Tremblay and Quinn Curren combined for the shutout in goal.

No. 8 Londonderry 19, Windham 9

The Jaguars got two goals and three assists from Sam Kramer while Josh Trudel scored four goals.

Bow 12, Pelham 4

The Falcons broke open a close game in the second half and got a big road win over the Pythons.

Sam Bennett led the way for Bow with four goals and Kian O’Leary had three goals and an assist. Niko Mallios and Wyatt Premo each had two goals and two assists.

Parker Kazanowski had a goal and two assists while Cam Czarnosz and Harrison Denise had an assist apiece. Brad Ekstrom finished with 15 saves.

Laconia 14, Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough 6

Brady Stevens (one assist) and Eli Nadeau each had four goals to lead the Sachems to a win over the Lakers.

Paul Ganchi added three goals and an assist while Rock Londer had two goals and two assists and Sean Sullivan also scored for Laconia.

Hollis Brookline 10, Goffstown 7

Bennett Torgersen had four goals to help the Cavaliers pick up a win over the Grizzlies.

Mike O’Hearn added three goals and JP Torgersen had a goal and four assists. Noah Taylor and Colin Magnuszewski also had goals for HB.

Levi Mitchell finished with nine saves while Deegan Herrera and Colten Herrera played well defensively. O’Hearn, Mason Acheson and Vittorio Masoni did well handling faceoffs.

Concord 13, Dover 8

Parker Ketcham had four goals and an assist for the Green Wave, but it wasn’t enough in a loss to the Crimson Tide.

Cooper Ketcham added two goals and two assists and Logan Carter also scored twice. Ben Tower had three assists and Tobey Desroches had two assists for Dover.

Girls Lacrosse

No. 5 Winnacunnet 20, Kingswood 5

McKinley Fowler had four goals and an assist for the Warriors as they rolled past the Knights.

Elle Emery and Ari Rizzo (one assist) also had three goals apiece while Kiala Roy had a goal and an assist. Emmy Granger, Sky Mace and Addy McErlain each had a goal and an assist and Sarah Rademacher, Teagan Rooney, Reese Gandt and Annika Jacques had a goal apiece.

Avery Wood chipped in with an assist while Madison Brunelle and Benten Lyford each had four saves.

Hanover 19, Spaulding 3

Izzy Orrell made 12 saves in the Red Raiders loss to the Bears. Sarah Lin had two goals and Payton Boumel scored one for Spaulding.

Hopkinton 18, Campbell 11

The Cougars hung with the Hawks for three quarters, but Hopkinton pulled away in the fourth for the win.

Zoe Bourque had six goals and four assists for Campbell while Lilli Wilson had two goals and three assists. Ava Grant also had three goals.

Boys Volleyball

Coe-Brown 3, Hollis Brookline 0

The Cavaliers dropped their first match of the year, falling on the road to the Bears. Game scores were 25-14, 25-21 and 25-23.

Ethan Norris had 15 kills and recorded the 150th ace of his high school career. Sam Hersey added 23 assists and Alex Howe had four kills and was solid on defense.

Baseball

Goffstown 5, Exeter 4

Noah Durham hit a two-run home run to help lead the Grizzlies to a win over the Blue Hawks.

Brent Baxter also drove in a run while Zachary Tarrier had a double, walked twice and scored a run for Goffstown. Ryan Dutton got the win, going five innings and allowing three runs on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts.

Brennan Schimoler and Jack Dever had an RBI and a run scored apiece while Camren Piwnicki and Mike Caron each drove in a run. Garrett White and Finn Adams also scored and Ethan Battles took the loss, as he gave up four runs on five hits and four walks with five strikeouts over four innings.
