Around the Granite State: Timberlane boys lacrosse moves on in D2 playoffs
Here are results from Thursday’s high school lacrosse playoff games.
Jack Condon scored five goals to help lead the fourth-seeded Timberlane Regional High School boys lacrosse team to a 17-5 win Thursday over No. 13 Hanover in the Division II preliminary round.
The Owls (14-3, No. 7 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll) also got four goals and two assists from Cole Gerry and three goals and two assists from Mike Savage.
Austin Charest added a goal and four assists and Rocco Psareas had a goal and three assists while Landon Petry scored twice and had an assist and Gary Shivell also scored.
Joey Hughes had four saves and Bryce Carty finished with three as they split time in goal.
Timberlane will host a quarterfinal game against No. 5 St. Thomas at 12 p.m. Saturday.
No. 3 Windham 13, No. 14 Kennett 4
Matt Desmarais had four goals for the Jaguars as they opened the D2 playoffs with a win over the Eagles.
Ryan Parke and Drew Grzyb each had two goals and two assists for Windham (15-3, No. 8) and AJ Martino also scored twice.
The Jaguars will host a quarterfinal game against No. 6 Winnacunnet at 5 p.m. Saturday.
No. 7 Oyster River-Newmarket 12, No. 10 Alvirne 2
Jake Faila led the way for the Bobcats, scoring three goals to go with an assist, as they picked up a win over the Broncos in the D2 playoffs.
Dee Tsarkiris added a goal and three assists while Tyler Callander scored three times. Evan Plourde and Alex Moody had two goals apiece and Talon Beyer had two assists.
Jadyn Smart also scored while Cole Levesque was 11 of 18 on faceoffs and Cole Norris finished with eight saves.
The Bobcats (12-5) move on to face No. 2 Derryfield in the quarterfinals on the road at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Girls Lacrosse
No. 2 Windham 20, No. 10 Oyster River-Newmarket 3
Chloe Hall had five goals and five assists as the Jaguars cruised to a win over the Bobcats in the D2 quarterfinals.
Sophia Ponzini also scored five times and had three assists for Windham (16-2, No. 7) while Emma Kendzulak and Darby Madded had three goals and an assist apiece.
Sophie Manchester, Mia Gallinelli and Casey Dolliver had a goal apiece and Jaidyn Seitzer had three saves.
The Bobcats (8-9) got a goal each from Keira Ferris, Hannah Dunbar and Grace Royal while Eliza Farwell had eight saves.
Windham moves on to the semifinals where it will take on No. 3 Timberlane (14-3) at 4 p.m. Saturday at Stellos Stadium in Nashua.
No. 1 St. Thomas 17, No. 8 Coe-Brown 7
Charlotte De Tolla had six goals for the Saints as they knocked off the Bears in the D3 quarterfinals.
Megan Leahy added four goals and Kat Dornan had three for St. Thomas (15-0), while Reece Anderson scored twice. Lizzy Holden and Grace Talbot had a goal apiece.
Brea Barker finished with eight saves and Juliana Frella played well defensively and picked up her 150th draw control. Maddie McMahon also played well for the Saints.
Morgan Readel led the Bears (10-6) with three goals while Carolyn Clawson, Brooke Kozlowski, Avery Keefe and Ellie Escabi had a goal apiece. Alexis Muse finished 22 saves while Adison Moynihan played well.
St. Thomas advances to the semifinals, where it will face No. 4 Hopkinton (13-2) at 12 p.m. Saturday at Bank of NH Stadium in Laconia.
