Around the Granite State: Timberlane field hockey ends regular season with win
Here are results from Friday’s high school field hockey action.
The Timberlane Regional High School field hockey team controlled possession for most of the game in a 1-0 win over Portsmouth on Friday.
Taylor Alperin had the game’s lone goal, scoring in the third quarter for the Owls (9-6-1, No. 8 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll).
Austin Peters had three saves for Timberlane while Aubrey Fitzgerald, Rylee O’Connor, Lexi Dorow and Esme Johnston played well.
Reese McCauley had a big game in goal for the Clippers (2-14), as Timberlane had 22 shots and 17 penalty corners.
No. 6 Souhegan 1, Hollis Brookline 0
The Sabers got a road win to end the regular season, snapping the Cavaliers’ 10-game unbeaten streak.
Ori Dart scored the only goal of the game off an assist from Ella Russell. Olivia Harrison finished with one save for Souhegan (14-1-1) while Bella Preston, Abby Mayo, Mariellah Dart and Avery Wyborney played well.
Plymouth 2, Hanover 1
The Bobcats overcame an early deficit to wrap up the regular season with a win over the Bears.
Amelia Avery tipped in a rebound with nine minutes left in regulation to give Plymouth (10-6) the win. Trista Strickland also had a goal and Serena McKenney recorded an assist while Carmen Donis played well in goal.
Sydney Fulleron, Lucia Sakin, Amanda Ahern, Hailey Garnsey and Ava Anderson were also solid for the Bobcats.
