Around the Granite State: Timberlane girls basketball beats Oyster River

Rylee Donahue scored 28 points to help lead the Timberlane Regional High School girls basketball team to a 64-55 win over Oyster River on Monday.

Donahue had four 3-pointers and was 8 for 10 at the free throw line for the Owls while Sam Mooney added 21 points, with three 3s and was 4 of 4 at the line. Lila Fitzgerald played well defensively for Timberlane.

Ashling Ferris led the Bobcats with 24 points and Payton Drapeau was also in double figures with 13 points. Wren Horne added eight points for Oyster River.

Wrestling

Sabers finish 5th at Keene

Souhegan had seven wrestlers place to finish fifth out of 36 teams at Keene’s Minickiello Tournament on Saturday.

Jack Kaler finished first at 132 pounds and was named the tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler, while Gabe Holt came in first at 215 points. Chase Knuckles also reached the finals, coming in second at 144 pounds.

Patrick Cased came in third and 165 and Kyle Sukcharoenphon was fourth at 106. Nathan Stout finished fifth at 120, and on the girls’ side, Ava Burbee finished fourth at 138.

Gymnastics

Blackbirds finish third

The Blackbirds recorded a score of 124.55 to come in third in a four-team meet in Derry.

Olivia Adams came in third in the all-around with a score of 34.35, including a second-place finish on the vault (9.0).
