Around the Granite State: Timberlane girls basketball picks up 2nd win
Here are results from Monday night’s high school basketball action.
Rylee Donohue scored 22 points to help lead the Timberlane Regional High School girls basketball team to a 48-27 win over Merrimack on Monday night.
The Owls (2-0 in Division I) outscored the Tomahawks (0-2) 19-4 in the first quarter, with Donohue scored 10 points in the frame.
Sam Mooney had all of her 11 points, including three 3s, in the first half, as Timberlane led by 16 points at the break, and Tatenda Chanakira played well defensively.
Merrimack got 10 points from Meg McCarthy.
Pinkerton 73, Nashua South 50
Sydney Gerossie scored 21 points to lead the Astros to a road win over the Panthers.
The senior hit two 3-pointers, as did Kaylee Dupuis, who finished with 14 points for Pinkerton (2-0). Brooke Benz was also in double figures with 18 points.
South (1-1) got 16 points from Nicole De Jesus while Addie Borden and Karina O’Donnell each scored 12 points.
Salem 66, Spaulding 20
The Blue Devils outscored the Red Raiders 46-8 in the first half on the way to their second straight win to open the season.
Ella Mosto led the way with 16 points for Salem (2-0) while Lindsay Goetz had 14 points, including three 3-pointers. Lillian George also hit a pair of 3s and finished with nine points, as the Blue Devils had 10 3s as a team.
Spaulding (0-2) got seven points from Meagan Uraskevich while Ava Damon scored six points.
Bedford 51, Nashua North 23
Kate Allard scored 18 points, including two 3s, to help the Bulldogs to a win over the Titans.
Sarah Muir was also in doble figured with 14 points for Bedford (2-0) while Ella Allard added six points.
Lily Small had 15 points to lead North (0-2).
Londonderry 76, Exeter 63
The Blue Hawks came up short against the Lancers to fall to 0-2 on the season.
Emma Gillis led Exeter with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Anna McGuinness also had a double double with 14 points and 10 boards.
Lexy Rogers added 13 points and seven rebounds while Karli Sherpf had eight assists and Emme Kayes also grabbed 10 boards.
Windham 50, Winnacunnet 18
The Jaguars got points from 11 players on the way to a win over the Warriors.
Elizabeth Grasso led the way for Windham (2-0) with nine points while Meghan Husson added eight markers and Lilah Boucher and Gabby Gullifa each had six.
Ari Bennett led Winnacunnet (0-2) with six points and Paige Harris added five points.
Keene 62, Manchester Memorial 15
The Blackbirds led 25-3 after one quarter and never looked back against the Crusaders.
Harper Zalaski led the way for Keene (2-0) with 14 points and McKenna Belson added 12 points. Lucy Timmer was also in double figures for the Blackbirds with 11 markers.
Jaelyn Hartford and Aeva Dessalines each had five points to lead Memorial.
Boys Basketball
Alvirne 51, Goffstown 49
The Broncos scored just 11 points in the second half but managed to hang on for the win over the Grizzlies.
Sammy DeWitt scored 30 points to lead Alvirne while Andrew Deely added 12 markers.
Winnacunnet 58, Windham 50
Christian Chartier scored 16 points and Dillon Clarke added 14 points to lead the Warriors past the Jaguars.
Windham got 15 points from Jack Koutrobis while Tyler Jordan scored 11 and Sam Roidoulis had 10.
