Around the Granite State: Tuesday’s Roundup (video)
The Nashua High School South boys basketball team came back from a first-quarter deficit and held Keene to four points in the third quarter for a 66-56 win on Tuesday.
The Panthers (1-2) got 16 points from Andres Hulfachor, including 9 of 10 from the free throw line, and Ivan Nyantenji added 15 points, including two of South’s six 3-pointers. Jeremiah Mitchell chipped in eight points, with two 3s of his own, while Jaden Murphy and Alex Hulfachor each had seven points.
Lian Johnston led Keene (1-1) with 18 points, including four 3-pointers, and Noah Timmer recorded 13 points. Jonathan Kelly and Alex Charles each chipped in seven points for the Blackbirds.
Hopkinton 69, Campbell 56
The Hawks moved to 4-1 in D3 behind 32 points from Kevin Newton-Delgado. The Cougars fell to 0-3.
Girls Basketball
Bishop Guertin 73, Londonderry 35
The Cardinals got 18 points from Erin Carney as they improved to 4-0 in Division I this season.
Brianna Wilcox added 10 points for Bishop Guertin and Addison Smith had nine as the Cardinals hit eight 3-pointers and got scoring from 12 players. Kailee McDonald came off the bench to add eight points and Meghan Stack and Mazie Barker each chipped in with six.
Londonderry (2-2) got 12 points from Courtney Shay and Ashley Rourke added six points.
Campbell 52, White Mountains 20
The Cougars (2-3) got points from all 11 players, led by 13 from Tori Allen. Karleigh Schultz added eight points while Alyssa Gonzalez had six points and Hailey Anderson scored five.
Manchester Memorial 63, Trinity 35
The Crusaders picked up a win in their first home game of the year, moving to 3-0 in D1.
Lyric Grumblatt led Memorial with 18 points and Jennessa Brunette was also in double figures with 14 points. Tamrah Gould and Elizabeth Barrientos chipped in with six points apiece.
Pinkerton 42, Dover 29
The Astros (2-1) got 14 points from Avah Ingalls on the way to the win. Jesse Ames added 10 points for Pinkerton and Alyssa DiMauro had seven markers.
Salem 59, Windham 52
The Blue Devils (3-2) picked up their third win of the year, getting 12 points each from Stella Hazelton and Carly Saif. Olivia Murray was also in double figures with 11 points and Jordyn Franzen added eight.
The Jaguars (2-2) got 20 points from Sarah Dempsey and Olivia Tsetsilas recorded 11 markers.
Goffstown 61, Winnacunnet 35
Kelly Walsh scored 38 points to help the Grizzlies (3-1) bounce back from their first D1 loss of the season.
