Around the Granite State: Wednesday’s Roundup
Chelsea Mullen scored the game’s only goal with 8:14 remaining Wednesday and the Londonderry High School field hockey team held off Pinkerton for a 1-0 win.
Taylor McKinnon assisted on the goal, which came off a penalty corner. Mullen’s reverse hit from the right of the circle cut across and found the far post to give the Lancers (1-0-1) their first win of the season.
Kathryn Martin had 12 saves for Londonderry, while Pinkerton’s Kylie Coupal also played well in goal.
Nashua South 4, Nashua North 0
Kaitlyn West picked up right where she left off on Monday and the Panthers picked up their second win of the week against the Titans.
West, who had all five South goals in a win over North, scored twice on Wednesday while Amy Marison had a goal and an assist. Soleil Dubois also scored while Audra Robinson and Lizzie DeRusha each had an assist.
Courtney Tello made two saves for the Panthers (2-0).
Kennett 1, Plymouth 0
The Eagles picked up their second win of the week over the Bobcats, getting a goal in the final 10 minutes of the game.
Goalie Ashley Bannon played well for Plymouth (0-3) while Tori Whitcher, Ellen Ryan and Grace Bannon were strong on defense. Emma Webster, Gwen Merrifield, Maya Duarte and Olivia Homer played well offensively.
