Around the Granite State: Wednesday’s Roundup

The Trinity High School boys lacrosse team picked up its second win of the season by beating Campbell 9-6 in a Division III game.

The Pioneers (2-1) got two goals each from Jimmy Kosiarski and Nick Roy. Mike and Ryan Etzo had a goal apiece while Dillon and Will Brown also each had a goal.

Goffstown 14, Alvirne 3

Nick Mason scored five goals and added an assist as the Grizzlies rallied from a first-quarter deficit to beat the Broncos in a Division II game.

Eric Dubois added three goals and Griffin Cook and Ben O’Brien each had a goal and two assists for Goffstown (2-0). Andrew McCarthy, Max Lajeunesse, Matt Fleming and Cam Chouinard also had a goal apiece.

Sean Smith chipped in with an assist and Finn Grant made nine saves. Andrew McCarthy, Alex McCarty and John Erwin combined to go 13 of 20 on faceoffs.

Girls Lacrosse

Souhegan 9, Portsmouth 8

The Sabers jumped out to a 7-4 lead in the first half and held off the Clippers in a battle of the defending champions from Division I and II.

Savannah Behn and Abby Cranney each had three goals for Souhegan (5-0) and O’Neill Galinson added two goals. Clare Woodford also scored while Taylor Clark had three assists and Mallory Chamberlain and Taylor Dudek had an assist each.

Sydney Ludes led Portsmouth (1-2) with three goals and Lily Madden had two goals. Kate Loughlin, Mandy Roelfs and Anna Smith each scored and Isabelle Settie added an assist.

Alex LaBrosse made four saves for Souhegan and Grace Jackson stopped seven shots for Portsmouth.

Hollis Brookline 13, Milford 0

The Cavaliers stormed out of the gate, scoring three goals in the first three minutes and never looked back in their first meeting with the Spartans.

Caroline Smith, Rachel Ash, Ari Friedman and Josie Farwell led the defense and Olivia Valentine made six saves to preserve the shutout.

Kelsey Sweeney led the offense with six goals and Victoria Bruzik scored twice for HB (3-1). CeCe Fetter added three assists and Tasha White had a goal and an assist while Rachel Cerato, Reagan Berry and Paisley Broadhurst chipped in a goal apiece.

Pinkerton 15, Hanover 2

The Astros improved to 5-0 on the year with a road win over the Marauders.

Lily Auger led the way for Pinkerton with four goals and Lauren Lisauskas added two goals and two assists. Kiley Davis, Meg Michaud, Madison Daziel and Zoe Howe also had two goals apiece.

Dani Martinuea made eight saves for Pinkerton.

Softball

Hollis Brookline 18, ConVal 6

The Cavaliers picked up their first win of the season by thumping the Cougars. Gabby Paquin got the win for HB (1-2), going five innings with one strikeout and allowing six runs on four hits.

Kara Lukovits was 2 for 3 with four RBIs and Cassidy Pigott went 3 for 3 and drove in a run. Skylar Mack also had two hits and three RBIs.
