Around the Granite State: Windham field hockey gets shutout win over Nashua North
Here are results from Friday’s high school sports action.
Six players scored a goal Friday for the Windham High School field hockey team as the Jaguars picked up a 6-0 win over Nashua North.
Kendall Salvador, Jaidyn Seitzer, Emme Mulrenan, Kiera Lee, Abbie Petrini and Emma Adamske had a goal apiece for Windham (5-7-1).
Nashua South 3, Manchester 1
Addie Borden and Keegan Dolan each had a goal and an assist to help the Panthers come back in the second half for the win over the Kings.
Brooke Berger also had a goal for South (3-10) and Meury Navarette made two saves in the win. Also playing well for the Panthers were Wylie Hart, Meenu Dwaraka and Maggie Schmidt.
Mascoma Valley 3, Stevens 1
Sophia Smith had two goals to lead the Royals to a road win over the Cardinals.
Makenna Houston also scored for Mascoma Valley (7-2-1).
No. 8 Dover 2, Salem 1
Hannah Calhoun and Ella Deroy each had a goal for the Green Wave in a road win over the Blue Devils.
Hannah Deroy recorded an assist for Dover (8-4-1, No. 8 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) and Scarlett Gray had six saves. The Green Wave had 11 penalty corners and 15 shots on goal.
Brooke Morse had the goal for Salem (7-5) and Avery Aliberti had an assist. Ella Whittaker played well defensively and Abby Beeley was strong in the midfield.
No. 7 Souhegan 5, Pembroke 1
Ella Russell had four goals for the Sabers as they cruised past the Spartans.
Eme Godin added a goal and an assist for Souhegan (11-1) while Abby Mayo had two assists and Ori Dart and Mariellah Dart had an assist apiece. Amelia Warecki made two saves in the win.
No. 4 Pinkerton 4, Portsmouth 0
Cara Murray scored twice as the Astros got a win over the Clippers.
Cayden Madeiros added a goal and an assist and Jordyn Schreiber also scored for Pinkerton (8-4). Fran Doyle chipped in with an assist in the win.
No. 3 Keene 2, Merrimack 0
Makenna Nelson had a goal to help lead the Blackbirds to a win over the Tomahawks.
Natalia Gillis had an assist for Keene (10-1-1) while the second goal came out of a scrum. Dayna English made five saves in the win.
Girls Volleyball
Dover 3, Hollis Brookline 0
The Cavaliers dropped a close match on the road, falling to the Green Wave by scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 25-22.
Hailey and Shelby Klassens each had five kills and Sam Burke had four kills. Hershey Vedula and Dami Holman provided solid defense for HB (3-7).
