Around the Granite State: Winnacunnet field hockey rolls to win over Nashua South (video)
Here are results from Friday’s high school sports action.
NASHUA – McKinley Fowler had three goals and two assists to help lead the Winnacunnet High School field hockey team to a 7-0 win Friday morning over Nashua South.
Fiona McAfee added a goal and three assists and Sofia Donatelli and Maddy Garrant each had a goal and an assist for the Warriors (1-0, No. 5 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll).
Reese Gandt also had a goal and Amber Morgado finished with one save.
South (0-1) got 21 saves from goalie Meury Navarette.

No. 6 Keene 4, No. 3 Exeter 0
Scarlett Miller had a goal and an assist to lead the Blackbirds to the season-opening win over the Blue Hawks.
Olive Thatcher and McKenna Nelson added a goal apiece, as did Natalia Gillis, for her first career high school goal. Ella Rice chipped in with an assist for Keene (1-0).
Dayna English made her first varsity start in goal and earned the shutout by making five saves.
No. 10 Londonderry 4, Merrimack 1
Lexi Padykula scored a goal and had an assist and Alison Chambers had two assists as the Lancers knocked off the Tomahawks.
Sadie Moore, Sienna Schulz and Avery Callahan added a goal a piece for Londonderry (1-0) while Lindsey McKinnon and Morgan Ayotte each had an assist. Abbigail Cook finished with three saves.
Allie Wyand had the lone goal for Merrimack (0-1).
No. 7 Hollis Brookline 7, Derryfield 0
Caroline Crawford and Megan Eckman each had three goals for the Cavaliers as they opened the season with a win over the Cougars.
Anna McGurk also had a goal for HB (1-0) while Maddie Barich finished with two saves.
Oyster River 8, Laconia 0
Rose Paxton and Eliza Farwell had two goals apiece as the Bobcats shut out the Sachems to start the year.
Nora Rogers added a goal and an assist and Rowynn Pickering had two assists for Oyster River (1-0). Maggie Aldous, Sadie McLeod and Grey Bowden also had a goal apiece in the win.
Goffstown 4, Nashua North 0
The Grizzlies picked up a win to open the season despite two weather delays that led to the game being called at halftime.
Madigan Buckley, Molly Tappin, Meredith Twomey and Hailey Hanson each had a goal for Goffstown (1-0) while Claire Brisiel, Finley Heath and Trinity Lunn each added an assist. Hope Moulton earned the win in goal.
