BEDFORD – Aiden O’Connell scored a game-high 25 points, reaching a career milestone on the way, to help lead the Bedford High School boys basketball team to a 67-59 win Friday over Bishop Guertin.
BEDFORD – Aiden O’Connell scored a game-high 25 points, reaching a career milestone on the way, to help lead the Bedford High School boys basketball team to a 67-59 win Friday over Bishop Guertin.
O’Connell scored the 1,000th point of his high school career in the first quarter, needing just five points to reach the mark. After making four free throws to open the game, O’Connell got the points on a three-point play.
Luke Soden added 20 points for the Bulldogs (15-1) and Caden Brown chipped in with eight points, as Bedford regrouped at halftime after falling behind in the first half. Down 37-32 earl in the third quarter, the Bulldogs went on an 11-0 run to change momentum and take control of the game.
Luke Anderson had 19 points to lead the Cardinals (11-5), while Matt Santosuosso added 16 points and Bobby Canaway came off the bench to record 12. Spencer Matarazzo also had eight points for Bishop Guertin.
