EXETER – Every season comes with expectations, and for the Bedford High School girls lacrosse team, this year started with high ones, from both inside and outside the program.

There was good reason for that. The Bulldogs returned to the Division I championship game last season for the first time in four years, and despite coming up short, were returning almost everyone from that team.

Whatever was said from the outside, Bedford found ways to ignore it or set it aside and focus on the task at hand. The Bulldogs accomplished that task, going undefeated against in-state competition, including a 14-10 win over Portsmouth to win the D1 title.
