Bedford makes jump in this week’s NHHSS Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll

The Bedford High School boys lacrosse team picked up three wins last week to help the Bulldogs continue their climb in the NHHSS Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll.

After placing 10th in the preseason poll, Bedford moved up to seventh last week and sixth this week after getting two wins over Salem and another against Windham. The Bulldogs have two games this week against Souhegan, which is 10th in the poll, before hosting No. 5 Londonderry on Saturday.

Bishop Guertin finished first for the third week in a row, receiving all first-place votes after two wins over Pinkerton. The Cardinals play two against Nashua South, the No. 6 team in the poll, this week. Exeter was a unanimous choice for second this week after getting two wins over Souhegan and another against Londonderry; the Blue Hawks play Salem twice this week.

Pinkerton got every third-place vote after dropping a pair to Bishop Guertin and the Astros have one game with Merrimack this week. Derryfield remained at No. 4 after two wins against Goffstown. The Cougars face Oyster River-Newmarket twice this week before hosting Merrimack on Saturday.

Londonderry remained at No. 5 after going 2-1, with wins over Merrimack, and the Lancers will play two with Concord during the week. Nashua South had the week off and returns to action against Alvirne on Monday before playing Bishop Guertin twice.

Winnacunnet picked up a pair of wins against Windham and was scheduled to play Dover twice this week, but one of those contests has already been postponed. Portsmouth got two wins last week over Oyster River-Newmarket and has two scheduled with Timberlane this week.

Here is the NHHSSports Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll for the preseason. These are the top 10 lacrosse teams in the state, with record in parentheses, first-place votes/points and last week’s ranking.

The coaches poll is voted on by coaches from all three divisions, as well as members of the media.
