The top teams held their ground in the final NHHSSports Girls Lacrosse Coaches Poll before the postseason gets underway this week.

Bedford held on to the top spot for the fourth week in a row, although Portsmouth was able to swipe a first-place vote away from the Bulldogs. The two teams open the playoffs as the top two seeds in Division I.

The Bulldogs will begin the tournament Thursday by hosting the winner of Tuesday’s D1 first-round game between Exeter and Merrimack. The Clippers already know their quarterfinal opponent, as they face Souhegan, also on Thursday.

Bishop Guertin took all votes for third place again this week, as the Cardinals are the sixth seed in the D1 tournament and will head to Dover on Thursday. The Green Wave, Bishop Guertin’s opponent, came in at No. 4 for the second week in a row and is seeded third for the playoffs.

Nashua South once again rounded out the top five and the Panthers, seeded fourth, will host Pinkerton in the playoffs on Thursday. Bow, which is the top seed in Division III, came in at No. 6; the Falcons will host either Kearsarge or Derryfield in the quarterfinals Thursday.

Pinkerton moved up a spot to No. 7 this week, as the Astros get ready for the quarterfinal game against South, while Hanover, the top seed in Division II, also jumped up a spot. The Bears will face either John Stark/Hillsboro-Deering or Merrimack Valley in the quarterfinals.

Windham moved up to No. 9 this week, as the Jaguars are the No. 2 seed in D2 and will host either Kennett or Oyster River-Newmarket. Souhegan, which fell to 10th in the poll, travels to Portsmouth on Thursday for the D1 quarterfinals.
