DURHAM – There were several things the Bedford High School boys basketball team could have tried change up facing Pinkerton Academy a second time in Sunday’s Division I championship game.
Instead, Frank Moreno and the Bulldogs coaching staff decided to stick with what got them there, and it paid off.
Bedford turned to senior Aiden O’Connell and junior Luke Soden, its leading scorers, in the fourth quarter, and the pair delivered. The pair combined for all but two of the team’s 25 points in the final eight minutes, as the top-seeded Bulldogs pulled away for a 66-56 win over No. 2 Pinkerton in the title game at the University of New Hampshire’s Lundholm Gym.
