Bishop Guertin, Bedford take the top spots in the final NHHSSports Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll

The Bishop Guertin High School boys lacrosse team wrapped up its fourth Division I championship in a row Saturday and now the Cardinals have done the same in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll.

Bishop Guertin, which defeated Bedford in the title game, received all 16 first-place votes to end the season in the No. 1 spot, the 36th week in a row the Cardinals have been in that spot. It’s also the fourth straight year they’ve finished the season there.

The Bulldogs finished at No. 2, their highest ever finish in the poll, while Portsmouth, which defeated Derryfield in Division II title game, came in at No. 3, matching its highest finish (2022). Exeter, which lost to Bishop Guertin in the D1 semifinals, ended up at No. 4 while Derryfield rounded out the top five.

Pinkerton, which fell to Bedford in the D1 semifinals, finished the season at No. 6 while Timberlane, which lost to Portsmouth in the D2 semifinals, came in at No. 7. Winnacunnet, which made the D2 final four before losing to Derryfield, moved into the poll for the first time this season, ending up at No. 8.

Londonderry came in at No. 9 after falling to Exeter in the D1 quarterfinals, while Windham, which lost to Winnacunnet in the D2 quarterfinals, rounded out the top 10.

Here is the final NHHSS Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll for 2024. These are the top 10 lacrosse teams in the state, with records, first-place votes/points, and last week’s ranking (T=tie).

Dropped out: St. Thomas.
