Bishop Guertin field hockey takes down Keene
The Bishop Guertin High School field hockey team improved to 3-1-1 on the year with a 5-1 win over Keene on Monday.
Kate Bradford led the Cardinals with two goals while Grace Goyette, Bonnie Gillis and Olivia Koutsos also scored. Makenna Leazer had three saves for Bishop Guertin in the second half, while Greta Reilly had one in the first half.
Keene’s lone goal came from Teal Borden and Emma Cahoon had an assist. McKinley Croteau stopped six shots for the Blackbirds.
Bradford started the scoring a little more than five minutes into the game and Goyette made it 2-0 Bishop Guertin less than a minute later, scoring off an assist from Katie Lupo. Bradford made it 3-0, scoring off a penalty corner, with Dakota Bilodeau assisting.
Gillis made it 4-0 in the first half, scoring off an assist McKenna Gosselin, and Koutsos pushed the lead to five for the Cardinals in the second half.
Bishop Guertin hosts Manchester Memorial at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
