Bishop Guertin girls lacrosse narrowly takes the top spot in the NHHSSports Preseason Coaches Poll

The Bishop Guertin High School girls lacrosse team received five of nine first-place votes to take the top spot in the first NHHSSports Girls Lacrosse Coaches Poll of the 2023 season.
The Cardinals came in just two points ahead of Bedford, which received two first-place votes, and five points ahead of Portsmouth, which also got two firsts. Bishop Guertin defeated Bedford in last year’s Division I championship game, while Portsmouth, which won five straight Division II titles, moves up to D1 this season.
Pinkerton and Souhegan, the other semifinalists in D1 last year, came in fourth and fifth in the poll, while Hollis Brookline, the runner-up in D2, took sixth. The same six teams opened last year’s poll in the exact same order.
Bow, which was the runner-up in D3 last year, took seventh and Nashua South came in eighth. Hanover, a final four team in D2 in 2022, came in ninth and Dover rounded out the top 10. Ten other teams also received votes in the poll.
