After winning the Division I title for the first time since 2017, the Bishop Guertin High School boys lacrosse team becomes the first team to go wire to wire in the top spot of the NHHSS Coaches Poll.

The Cardinals, who defeated Exeter 9-7 on Saturday in the championship game, held the No. 1 spot all year and received every first-place vote throughout the entire season. The Blue Hawks came at No. 2 while Pinkerton, which lost to Exeter in the semifinals, finished at No. 3.

Londonderry took the No. 4 spot after its season ended in the quarterfinals to Pinkerton while Portsmouth, which won the Division II title, came in at No. 5. Bedford, which fell to Bishop Guertin in the semifinals, came in at No. 6 while Winnacunnet, after falling to Portsmouth in a play-in game, finished at No. 7.

Nashua South was eighth following a quarterfinal loss to Bishop Guertin and Derryfield took ninth after dropping in the D2 semifinals to Portsmouth. Timberlane, the runner-up in D2, jumped into the final poll at No. 10, while Trinity, the D3 champion, and Hollis Brookline each received votes.

Here is the NHHSSports Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll for this week. These are the top 10 lacrosse teams in the state, with record in parentheses, first-place votes/points and last week’s ranking.

Dropped out: Hollis Brookline, Windham.

Also receiving votes: Trinity (14-4), 5; Hollis Brookline (13-2, T10th), 1.

The coaches poll is voted on by coaches from all three divisions, as well as members of the media.
