A busy week, and a handful of wins, for the Bishop Guertin High School girls lacrosse team helped the Cardinals move back into the top five of this week’s New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll.
Bishop Guertin went 3-1 during April vacation week, getting wins over St. Thomas, Concord and Providence (R.I.) before a one-goal loss Saturday against Westwood (Mass.).
Portsmouth as once against the top team, getting all 11 first-place votes, while Souhegan remained at No. 2, getting all of the second-place votes. Exeter held on at No. 3 and the Blue Hawks will host the Clippers on Wednesday.
Pinkerton remained at No. 4 despite dropping a pair of games last week, and the Astros will host Exeter on Monday. Bishop Guertin rounds out the top five, moving up two spots, with a game at Bedford looming on Wednesday.
Londonderry dropped a spot to No. 6, as the Lancers host Pinkerton Wednesday, while Winnacunnet remains the top from Division II, coming in at No. 7 this week. Bedford move up one spot to No. 8 after a couple of big wins last week.
Timberlane also jumped a spot, coming in at No. 9, while Nashua South dropped two spots to No. 10.

- Pinkerton (4-4), 61, 4th

- Bedford (4-2), 47, 9th
- Timberlane (6-1), 21, 10th
- Nashua South (6-1), 19, 8th
Also receiving votes: Goffstown (3-2), 5; Dover (3-4), 4; Bow (4-0), 3; Windham (3-4), 2; Merrimack (5-2), 1; St. Thomas (4-2), 1.
The coaches poll is voted on by girls lacrosse coaches from around the state and members of the media. The poll will be updated every Monday throughout the regular season.
