A week of the regular season is in the books and not much changed among the top six teams in the NHHSS Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll.
For the second week, Bishop Guertin is the unanimous No. 1 choice after picking up two victories against Londonderry, which moved out of a tie for fourth with Derryfield and into fifth. The Cardinals will take on Pinkerton, the No. 3 team in the poll for the second straight week, on Tuesday and Thursday of this week.
Exeter widened its lead over the Astros for second place in the poll after two wins over Nashua South. The Blue Hawks will face a couple of top 10 teams this week, as they take on Souhegan twice and play Londonderry on Saturday. Pinkerton, meanwhile, picked up a pair of wins over Salem and also outlasted Bedford last Saturday.
In its lone game of the week, Derryfield held on to beat Souhegan. The Cougars get two games this week against division rival Goffstown, on Tuesday and Friday. Londonderry will play two games with Merrimack this week, while South, which stayed at No. 6 after getting a win over Timberlane over the weekend, is off this week before taking on Alvirne and Bishop Guertin the following week.
Bedford, which jumped from 10th to 7th this week, opened with a pair of wins over Concord before its loss to Pinkerton, and the Bulldogs play two with Salem. Winnacunnet remained at No. 8 after two wins over Timberlane; the Warriors will have two games this week against D2 foe Windham, which dropped out of the poll.
Souhegan remains at No. 9 this week after a win over Keene and a loss to Derryfield, while Portsmouth moves into the top 10 after its two wins against Windham. The Clippers will play Oyster River-Newmarket on Tuesday and Thursday this week.
