Bishop Guertin takes all first-place votes in this week’s NHHSSports Girls Lacrosse Coaches Poll

For the first time this season, the Bishop Guertin High School girls lacrosse team is a unanimous choice for No. 1 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll.

The Cardinals, coming off a pair of big wins over Bedford and Franklin (Mass.), have been in the top spot all season long, but had split votes with the Bulldogs until this week.

Bishop Guertin will travel for another out-of-state game on Tuesday, as the Cardinals head to Newburyport (Mass.), and they will host Pinkerton on Thursday. Bedford returns home for a pair of games, starting Monday at 4 p.m. against Nashua South. The Bulldogs will also host Exeter on Friday.

Portsmouth and Souhegan end up tied for third this week. The Clippers host Kennett on Tuesday and go to Merrimack Valley on Friday. The Sabers head to Manchester Central for a 6 p.m. start on Monday and then will host Windham (Wednesday) and Londonderry (Friday).

Pinkerton held on to the fifth spot and the Astros go on the road twice this week, playing at Exeter on Tuesday to go with Thursday’s trip to Bishop Guertin. Hollis Brookline moved up a spot to No. 6 and will open the week by hosting Windham on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will also host Merrimack Valley on Wednesday and head to Harvard, Mass., on Thursday to face the Bromfield School.

Nashua South climbed up to seventh, and the Panthers will have a busy week, starting with Monday’s game at Bedford. South also hosts Merrimack on Wednesday and Manchester Central on Friday. Windham dropped two spots to eighth this week, and will open the week at Hollis Brookline before to Souhegan on Wednesday and then hosting Spaulding on Friday.

Hanover, which moved back into the poll at No. 9 after winning four in a row, will host Kingswood on Tuesday and then go to Oyster River-Newmarket on Wednesday. Exeter, who moved down a spot to 10th, will host Pinkerton and Winnacunnet (Wednesday) before the Friday trip to Bedford.
