Bishop Guertin takes over top spot in NHHSS Coaches Poll

The Bishop Guertin High School boys lacrosse team held on for a one-goal win in last Tuesday’s showdown with Pinkerton Academy, and this week, the Cardinals take over the top spot in the NHHSS Coaches Poll.

Bishop Guertin also picked up a win against Londonderry last week while Pinkerton has dropped two straight, including a game at Medfield (Mass.) last Saturday. Exeter remains in the the No. 3 spot after picked up wins over Nashua South and Dover, sandwiched around a loss to Cohasset (Mass.).

After winning a battle of unbeatens in Division II, Derryfield remains at No. 4 in the poll after picking up three wins over Westwood (Mass.), ConVal and Portsmouth. Londonderry switches spots with Portsmouth again this week, as the Lancers picked up wins over Souhegan and Keene, while the Clippers defeated Newburyport (Mass.) before the loss to Derryfield.

Souhegan bounced back from its first loss with wins over Salem and Hanover to remain at No. 7, while South held on to eighth after losing two of three. Concord remained at No. 9 while Hopkinton moved into the poll for the first time after receiving votes the first two weeks.

Here is the NHHSS Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll. These are the top 10 lacrosse teams in the state, with record in parentheses followed by first-place votes/points and last week’s ranking.
