Boys Lacrosse Playoff Roundup: Bishop Guertin tops Londonderry (video)

NASHUA – Sean McGarry had five goals and the No. 3 Bishop Guertin High School boys lacrosse team overcame a slow start Saturday to get a 14-6 win over No. 6 Londonderry in the Division I quarterfinals.

Cam Hayden added four goals and an assist and Jack Redfern had two goals and four assists for the Cardinals (14-5), who went on a 4-0 after falling down 2-1 midway through the first quarter and led 9-3 at halftime.

Zach Fortier added a goal and an assist while Hudson Schmitt and Kevin Salafia each had a goal. Ryan Baker chipped in with two assists while Cooper Paquette and Tyler McLeod each had an assist.

Londonderry (10-8) got three goals from Trey Campbell while Sawyer Labonte had two goals and Cam Prudhome also scored. Broch St. Gelais finished with 15 saves for the Lancers.

Bishop Guertin moves on to the semifinals where it will face No. 2 Pinkerton at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Manchester Memorial High School.

No. 2 Pinkerton 17, No. 7 Merrimack 3

The Astros scored four goals in the first two minutes and didn’t look back as they cruised past the Tomahawks in the quarterfinals.

Matt Gormady had five goals and an assist and Levi Weaver scored four goals for Pinkerton (16-3) while Jackson Farrell and Cade Johnston had two goals and two assists apiece.

Tyler Pinardi and Mikey Boudros also had a goal and two assists each while Matteo Marra and Ryan Hewes had a goal apiece. Dylan Stingle had two assists and Ryson Michaud had a helper while Owen Perkins and Gavin Burwell combined for eight saves.

Gabe Gorman had two goals for Merrimack (10-8) while Shea Scott had a goal and an assist and Sean Anderson also had a helper. Mason Tremblay finished with 15 saves and Seamus Hickey added three saves.

No. 1 Bedford 15, No. 9 Nashua South 6

Bennett Matthews, Brody Helton and Cobe Rubin each had three goals for the Bulldogs as they knocked off the Panthers in the quarterfinals.

Rubin also had an assist and Bryce D’Urso had two goals and two assists for Bedford (16-3) while John Purnell had a goal and an assist. Dylan Riccio, Savo Ftorek and Brooks Hardie added a goal apiece while Dax Bekar and Noah Lawless each had an assist.

Ethan Conn finished with seven saves and Sam Swiniarski recorded eight while Ricco teamed with Finn LaMarche and Kellan McGuinness to win 16 of 24 faceoffs.

The Bulldogs return to the semifinals for the third year in a row, where they will face No. 5 Exeter, which beat No. 4 Dover 11-10 in the quarterfinals, at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at Manchester Memorial.

Division II Playoffs

No. 2 Derryfield 20, No. 7 Kingswood 7

Dom Cercone scored eight goals and had an assist to lead the Cougars to a win over the Knights in the quarterfinals.

Ryan Maxwell had a goal and eight assists while Garrett Lande had four goals and a helper and Vittorio Masoni had two goals and an assist for Derryfield (16-2). Emerson Stover, Awaab Mousa, Henry Fleit, Patrick Masoni and Griffin Kim added a goal apiece.

Sam Rousseau chipped in with an assist while Mousa, Jackson Hatfield and Isaac Kosakowski combined to go 22 of 28 on faceoffs. Liam England had five saves and Ryder Proulx recorded seven stops.

Kingswood (9-7) got two goals and two assists from Keller Peacock while Myles O’Keefe had two goals. Collin Pelleter added a goal and an assist and Reid Swinerton also scored while Atley Rollins recorded 12 saves.

The Cougars move on to the semifinals, where they will face No. 3 Portsmouth, who defeated No. 6 Timberlane 17-10, at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Bill Ball Stadium in Exeter.

No. 1 Winnacunnet 14, No. 8 Goffstown 2

Spencer Zigler had three goals and an assist to help the Warriors get a win over the Grizzlies in the quarterfinals.

Brian McCown added two goals and two assists and Alec Mitchell had two goals and was 11 of 14 on faceoffs for Winnacunnet (16-1). Beckett Rath added two goals and an assist while Burke Spalding and Hale Dodier had two goals apiece.

Junior Paschal also had a goal and Liam McNally added an assist while Joel Williams finished with six saves.

The Warriors return to the semifinals, where they will face No. 4 Oyster River-Newmarket, who beat No. 5 St. Thomas 8-4, at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at Bill Ball Stadium in Exeter.

Division III Playoffs

No. 1 Coe-Brown 12, No. 8 Campbell 0

Joseph Fenton and Garrett Ward had three goals and two assists apiece to help the Bears get a quarterfinal win over the Cougars.

Glenn Papineau added two goals and an assist while Charlie Frye and Sam Frye each had two goals for Coe-Brown (15-0). Abel Szatko recorded two assists and Robert Lee had a helper in the win.

Jackson Alie finished with 11 saves for the Bears while Will O’Brien had 22 saves for Campbell (8-9).

Coe-Brown advances to the semifinals, where it will face No. 4 Hopkinton, who knocked off No. 5 Lebanon 14-6, at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at Bank of NH Stadium in Laconia.

No. 3 Plymouth 12, No. 6 Bishop Brady 5

Cooper Legacy and Eli Ibarguen each had four goals to help to Bobcats get the win over the Giants in the quarterfinals.

Legacy also had two assists and eight groundballs while Mike Aprilliano and Remi Sakin had a goal and an assist apiece for Plymouth (13-3). Brodhi Rousseau and Ben Valenti each added a goal.

Ryder Francis, Matt Valenti and Fim Whitworth V each had an assist, while Whitworth was 17 of 20 on faceoffs. Cullen McNair had eight saves while Logan Libby, Cooper Mack, Harper Preston, Jack Hutchins, Andrew Crane-Gough and Taylor Rousseau played well defensively.

Joey Richardson (one assist) and Ryan Haught each had two goals for Bishop Brady (11-7) while Jonah Vanderhooven also scored and Ray Weatherbee had seven saves.

The Bobcats return to the semifinals, where they will face No. 2 Bow, who defeated No. 7 ConVal 14-3, at 5 p.m. Thursday at Bank of NH Stadium in Laconia.
