Boys Lacrosse Roundup: Bedford comes back to beat Exeter (video)
Here are results from Tuesday’s high school boys lacrosse action.
BEDFORD – Savo Ftorek scored six goals, four of them during an 11-0 run, to help the Bedford High School boys lacrosse team rally for a 16-10 win Tuesday night over Exeter.
The Bulldogs (14-3, No. 3 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) trailed all game until the final three minutes of the third quarter, when a goal by Bennett Matthews and then three by Ftorek gave Bedford a 9-7 lead going into the fourth.
Three more Bedford goals in the first two minutes of the final quarter made it 12-7, as the Bulldogs continued to roll.
Matthews finished with three goals and two assists while Cobe Rubin also had three goals, Bryce D’Urso had a goal and three assists and Dax Bekar had two goals and two assists. Brody Helton added a goal and an assist while Ethan Conn made 13 saves and Dylan Riccio was 27 of 28 on faceoffs.
Exeter (11-5) got three goals from Alex Carrigan while Tommy Graves had a goal and five assists. Sean Haugh and Cam Knowles each had two goals and two assists and Griffin Gennard had two goals and an assist. Ronan Wilbur finished with 10 saves.
Oyster River-Newmarket 11, St. Thomas 4
The Bobcats won their eighth in a row with a win over the Saints.
Jeff Keyes had four goals and three assists while Alex Moody had four goals and a helper for ORN (11-3). Demitrius Tsakiris added two goals and two assists and Toby Berger-Killough had a goal and an assist.
Kavi Weber also recorded an assist and Grant Norris made 12 saves.
Bishop Brady 8, Lebanon 7
Ray Weatherbee made 30 saves to help the Giants grab a road win over the Raiders.
Ryan Haught had five goals to lead Bishop Brady (8-6) while Joey Richardson had a goal and five assists.
No. 7 Derryfield 21, Spaulding 9
Ryan Maxwell, Dom Cercone and Emerson Stover each scored five goals to help lead the Cougars past the Red Raiders.
Maxwell also had five assists while Cercone had three and Stover one for Derryfield (14-2). Vittorio Masoni added three goals and an assist and Jackson Hatfield had a goal and three assists while winning 5 of 7 faceoffs.
Mitch Labbe had a goal and an assist while Heath Mueller and Sam Rousseau added a goal apiece. Will Hazard recorded an assist and Liam England (three saves) and Ryder Proulx (four) combined on the win.
Timberlane 20, Pembroke 10
Rocco Psareas scored six goals and had two assists to help the Owls to the win.
Landon Petry added four goals and two assists and Gio Recesso had three goals and two assists for Timberlane (7-6). Cole Rego and Matthew Bartholomew added two goals apiece
Mark St. Jean scored a goal and has assist while Andrew Kellerman and Davern had a goal apiece.
No. 1 Pinkerton 14, Marshfield (Mass.) 3 (Saturday)
Matt Gormady had five goals and five assists to lead the Astros to a win over the Rams.
Cade Johnston added three goals and four assists and Levi Weaver had four goals and two assists for Pinkerton (14-3).
Caleb Hobden had three groundballs while Brandan Carney and Nate Smith also played well. Owen Perkins had 11 saves and Dylan Stingel and Tyler Pinardi were solid on faceoffs.
