Boys Lacrosse Roundup: Bedford gets a boost in win against Dover (video)

BEDFORD – After a slow start, the Bedford High School boys lacrosse team got a boost from a player returning to roll to a 20-9 win against Dover on Wednesday.

Brody Helton, who had been out with an injury from football season, made his season debut, scoring five goals and getting two assists to help the Bulldogs (10-3, No. 3 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) get the win.

Bennett Matthews also had six goals and four assists while Cobe Rubin and Bryce D’Urson had three goals apiece. Savo Ftorek had two goals and an assist and Dax Bekar had a goal and an assist while Dylan Riccio had a goal and Drew Paskalis had an assist. Ethan Conn recorded six saves in goal.

Logan Carter led the Green Wave (7-5) with three goals and three assists while Parker Ketcham had two goals and two assists. Porter Gray also scored twice and Cooper Ketcham had a goal and an assist.

Sylas Brown added a goal and Geffin Adorian had an assist while Danny Bretz made 13 saves.

Nashua North 10, Hollis Brookline 6

Josh Parsons recorded 14 saves to help the Titans grab a win over the Cavaliers.

Nick Wilkinson scored five goals for North (3-9) while Dylan Noble added four goals.

Pelham 12, Gilford 11 (OT)

Chris Swiniarski scored a minute into overtime to give the Pythons the win over the Golden Eagles.

Swiniarski finished with two goals and three assists while Aidan Cote had five goals and three assists, including the 100th goal of his high school career for Pelham (6-4).

David Hartford added two goals and Will Jeknavorian and Tyler McDonald each had a goal and an assist. Noah Johnson also scored and Jake Chafe was solid in goal.

Lucas Raleigh and Jack Fountaine each had four goals for Gilford (3-6). Christen Nunez added two goals and two assists and Emmett Hughes had nine groundballs.

No. 6 Derryfield 12, Kingswood 4

Emerson Stover had six goals to lead the Cougars to a road win over the Knights.

Ryan Maxwell added a goal and five assists and Jackson Hatfield scored twice and was 13 of 16 on faceoffs for Derryfield (10-2). Dom Cercone had three assists while Vittorio Masoni (one assist), Garrett Lande and Mitch Labbe had a goal apiece.

Liam England made 11 saves and Awaab Mousa was 4 of 4 on faceoffs.

Reid Swinerton had two goals for Kingswood (6-3) while Brady Walston and Collin Pelletier each added a goal. Myles O’Keefe and Parker Gilpatrick recorded an assist apiece and Atley Rollins had 10 saves.

No. 7 Winnacunnet 15, Merrimack Valley 4

Beckett Rath had six goals and four assists to lead the Warriors past the Pride for their ninth win in a row.

Spencer Zigler added three goals while Hale Dodier had two goals and three assists for Winnacunnet (9-1). Burke Spalding had a goal and an assist while Anthony Magri and Junior Paschal each had a goal and Chris Choquette was solid on faceoffs and scored his first varsity goal.

No. 5 Portsmouth 16, Alvirne 2

The Clippers got goals from 13 players in a win over the Broncos.

Miles Parker and Sam Biddle had two goals and an assist apiece while Max Russman and Nash Conklin had two goals each for Portsmouth (10-2). Cortland Barr had a goal and an assist and AJ Craig had a goal to go with three saves.

Cote Bellaud, Thayer Parkington, Chase Eberhardt, Gus Alati, Gus Baker, Trevor Sifferlen and Patrick Tichy had a goal apiece.

Timberlane 15, Goffstown 2

Rocco Psareas had six goals and two assists to lead the Owls to a win over the Grizzlies.

Landon Petry added three goals and two assists and Gio Recesso also scored three goals for Timberlane (4-5). Gavin Dubois added two goals and Noah Beckler had a goal and an assist while Ryan Bazidane made seven saves.

Bow 12, Milford 1

The Spartans got their lone goal from Josh Clark while Chris Bozza had an assist in a loss to the Falcons.

No. 8 Londonderry 14, Haverhill (Mass.) 7

The Lancers grabbed an out-of-state win over the Hillies, going on a 7-0 run in the fourth quarer, while getting five goals and three assists from Trey Campbell.

Brody Campbell added three goals and two assists while Mason Taylor and Aidan Stowell had two goals apiece for Londonderry (6-6). Owen Huard had a goal and an assist while Sawyer Labonte scored his first varsity goal.

Griffin Cunningham and Ben Williams had an assist apiece while Eli Bettencourt was 19 of 23 on faceoffs. Austin Callahan had 10 groundballs and Dylan MacDavis played well defensively.
