Boys Lacrosse Roundup: Winnacunnet holds off Derryfield for 8th win in a row

The Winnacunnet High School boys lacrosse team got out to an early lead and held off a comeback by Derryfield for a 14-13 win in a Division II contest in Hampton on Monday.

Beckett Rath (two assists), Spencer Ziegler (one) and Alec Mitchell each had three goals to lead the Warriors (8-1, No. 7 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) while Liam McNally and Brian McCown had two goals and two assists apiece.

Sully Duffy also had a goal and Joel Williams made three saves for Winnacunnet, which has won eight in a row and beat the Cougars (9-2, No. 6) for the first time since 2022.

Dom Cercone led Derryfield with six goals and two assists while Ryan Maxwell had two goals and five assists. Garrett Lande and Vittorio Masoni added two goals and an assist apiece while Heath Mueller had a goal and Emerson Stover had an assist.

Jackson Hatfield and Awaab Mousa combined to go 16 of 27 on faceoffs while Ryder Proulx had eight saves and Liam England made one.

Dover 22, Windham 9

The Green Wave celebrated their senior night with a big win over the Jaguars, in a game played at St. Thomas.

Cooper Ketcham led the way with eight goals and two assists while Logan Carter had five goals and three assists and Parker Ketcham had three goals and two assists for Dover (7-4).

Porter Gray added four goals and two assists Sylas Brown had a goal and an assist while Bryson Glidden and Finn Joyce each had an assist. Owen Wood won 84 percent of his faceoffs and scored his first goal.

Danny Bretz finished with 11 saves while Matt Silvia stopped a shot in his first varsity minutes in goal.

Windham (7-4) got a goal and two assists from Sam Kramer while Cameron Terry, Josh Trudel and Evan Ardizzone added two goals apiece. Tyler DellOrfano also had a goal while Ethan Peluso had nine groundballs and Nolan Lamb had five.

No. 10 Coe-Brown 13, Trinity 0

Sam Frye had four goals and an assist to lead the Bears to a shutout win over the Pioneers.

Joseph Fenton added two goals and two assists and Garrett Ward scored twice and had an assist for Coe-Brown (9-0). Charles Frye and Myles Brackett had a goal and two assists apiece while Robert Lee, Abel Szatko and Sam Fletcher each chipped in with a goal.

Miles Vega finished with five saves while Xander Ballou was 7 of 11 on faceoffs and Owen Fletcher was 5 of 6.

Hanover 9, Souhegan 4

Mich Hansen scored four goals to lead the Bears to a win over the Sabers.

EJ Pagnotte and Jack Mugas added two goals apiece for Hanover (4-3) while Ron Pinter made seven saves.

Rob Goodhue had a goal and an assist for Souhegan (2-7) while Judd Harris, Owen Mobley and Nate Hill had a goal apiece.

John Stark 7, Milford 4

Rocco Bartling made 10 saves for the Spartans but they came up short against the Generals.

Tyler Noble and Bentley Bowers each had a pair of goals to lead the offense for Milford (2-8).

No. 4 Exeter 16, No. 8 Londonderry 6

The Lancers fell on the road to the Blue Hawks.

Trey Campbell had two goals and an assist while Owen Huard and Austin Callahan each had a goal and two assists for Londonderry (5-6). Brody Campbell and Aidan Stowell added a goal apiece.

Eli Bettencourt had an assist and won 12 faceoffs while Broch St. Gelais made 12 saves and Zach Needham had three groundballs and two caused turnovers.

Campbell 9, Kearsarge 5

The Cougars snapped a four-game skid with a win over the Cougars.

Evan Molino and Nate Lencki had two goals and an assist apiece and Tyler Breton also scored twice for Campbell (4-5). Matthew Decarli, Logan Ercha and Ben Rakiey each added a goal in the win while Will O’Brien made 14 saves.

Lebanon 10, Plymouth 3

The Raiders broke open a one-goal game in the second half to get the win over the Bobcats.

VJ Sites had three goals and two assists for Lebanon (5-1) while Abe Pearson, Bentley Lang and Evan Thibideau had two goals apiece.

Jordan Findley led the defense with eight caused turnovers while Logan Mason recorded 10 saves in the win.
