Scott Hershberger has been named Thursday as the 2024 Yukica Player of the Year as the top high school football player from New Hampshire.
Hershberger, a senior from Campbell High School, finished ahead of two other finalists, Exeter’s Daniel Batstone and Salem’s Kevin Todisco, in a vote of NHIAA head coaches and members of the state’s football media.
“(Scott) can run North-South,” Campbell coach Glen Costello said. “He has the ability to cut it to go outside, and then his vision has gotten significantly better where he’s able to see that cutback. I think 4.75 is his best 40(-yard) time but his game speed is higher.”
Hershberger, a running back/defensive back, helped the Cougars to an 11-0 record and the Divisions III championship, the program’s second title in three years.
After rushing for 2,076 yards this season, Hershberger finished his high school career with 6,212 yards, setting the state record.
