Cardinals upset undefeated Londonderry to reach final
The Bishop Guertin High School boys tennis team got huge comeback in the final doubles match Thursday to knock off No. 1 Londonderry 5-4 in the Division I semifinals.
The Bishop Guertin High School boys tennis team got huge comeback in the final doubles match Thursday to knock off No. 1 Londonderry 5-4 in the Division I semifinals.
Aaron Wang and Chris DiCesare had their backs against the wall in the No. 3 doubles match, rallying from a 7-3 deficit to win in a tiebreaker 9-8 (7-3)
Wang, Andrew Xiao and Chris Prothro had singles wins and Xiao and Anthony DelPizzo won at No. 2 doubles to give the Cardinals (13-3) the upset of the Lancers (15-1).
Bishop Guertin will take on No. 3 Exeter (15-1) in the Division I final at 4 p.m. at The Derryfield School.
